NEET Result 2018 – Central Board of Secondary Education will be announcing NEET 2018 result on June 5. NEET result 2018 will be available online and candidates are required to enter their exam registration number, date of birth and provided security pin. The result will provide details about candidate’s NEET rank, marks obtained in each subject, percentile score and other information. Also, along with NEET result, the cutoff scores will be available. Test takers must make sure that they obtain the minimum NEET cutoff scores to be eligible for the counselling rounds, which is scheduled to start from 12 June 2018. Based on NEET result 2018, candidates will be admitted to the 15% All India Quota and 85% State Quota MBBS and BDS seats, offered by the various participating institutes. Before the availability of NEET scorecard 2018, CBSE will display the OMR sheet and then the answer key. Candidates can challenge the OMR sheet and answer key in case of any discrepancy. However, CBSE won’t entertain any request for rechecking or re-evaluation of NEET 2018 result. To download NEET 2018 result, candidates can follow the steps provided below –

  • Step 1 – Click on the link provided above
  • Step 2 – Enter NEET registration number
  • Step 3 – Provide Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY)
  • Step 4 – Enter the provided security pin
  • Step 5 – Click on submit button

On entering all the required details, the result of NEET 2018 will be available on the screen. Candidates are required to download and keep a copy of the same for future reference.

NEET Result 2018 – Marking Scheme

Marks will be calculated on the following basis –

  • +4 marks – Every correct answer
  • 0 mark – Every unanswered question
  • -1 marks – For each wrong answer
  • -1 marks – For answers with more than one answer

NEET Result 2018 – Tie Breaking Method

In case, if two or more candidates obtain equal NEET score 2018, then the following methods will be used in the following order to break the tie –

  • Candidate with highest marks in Biology i.e. Zoology and Botany will be given preference
  • Student securing highest marks in Chemistry
  • Aspirant with the less number of wrong attempts throughout all the subjects
  • Older candidates will be given preference

NEET Cutoff 2018

Like every year, CBSE has set the minimum NEET cut off 2018 percentile, which varies with the category of candidates. NEET 2018 cutoff is the minimum percentile that each candidate must obtain to qualify the exam. Only the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the counselling rounds. It is expected that the NEET Cutoff for each category will remain similar to last year. The table below provides the NEET cutoff 2017 percentile and scores for all the categories

NEET Merit List 2018

After the announcement of the result, NEET merit list will be prepared as per the ranks of candidates. There will be three types of merit list, which are –

  • All India Merit List
  • All India Quota Merit List
  • State Merit List

NEET Counselling 2018

Based on candidate’s NEET result i.e. scores and rank, candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling rounds. A total of two NEET 2018 counselling rounds will be held along with an additional mop-up round. For the top 15% All India Quota rank holders, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will be conducting the counselling rounds. For the remaining 85%, the state designated authorities will be conducting the counselling rounds for admission to the state medical colleges. NEET counselling will be online and eligible candidates are required to register for the same and complete the registration procedure within the given time.

About NEET 2018

CBSE conducted NEET on 6 May in a pen-paper based mode for admission to around 90,000 MBBS and BDS seats of various medical and dental colleges. The test was held across 136 Indian cities and more than 13 lakh medical aspirants appeared. The NEET question booklet contained 180 Multiple Choice Questions from 4 different subjects, which were Physics, Zoology, Botany and Chemistry. Each answer carried 4 marks and for every wrong attempt, 1 mark was deducted.
