About Sainik School Admission

Sainik School Admission 2018 process for Classes 6 and 9 from 8 October 2018 for all the 26 Sainik School located in India. The entrance test for Sainik School Admission Process that is All India Sainik School Entrance Examination 2018 (AISSEE) will be conducted on 6 January 2019. However, before applying for the test, one must go through the eligibility norms for Sainik School 2018 Admission. Also, candidates are advised to be familiar with the Sainik School Admission age limit, which will be different for Class 6 and 9.  The application form for Sainik School Admission 2018 is available online and candidates fill the same until 26 November 2018.

These 26 Sainik Schools across India are being centralized by Central Government i.e. Ministry of Defence (MoD). The main objective for Sainik School Admission is to prepare aspirants academically, mentally and physically for entry into National Defence Academy (NDA).  

As per the Sainik School Admission 2018 test pattern, for class 6, the question paper will have 125 questions and for Class 9, there will be a total of 150. The AISSEE 2018 for Class 6 will be out of 300 marks in total and 400 marks for Class 9. The result of AISSEE admission test will be announced 4 February 2019. Sainik School Lucknow is not covered under the AISSEE 

Sainik School, Uttar Pradesh is being administered by the state government. Besides this, Sainik School, Uttar Pradesh, only offers admission to girl aspirants in class 9. Sainik School, Lucknow also conducts its own entrance examination for admission to class 7 and 9. Only candidates who are a domicile of Uttar Pradesh can appear for the Sainik School Admission 2018.

Sainik School Entrance Exam 2018 Scholarship

The scholarship of Sainik School 2018 on the basis of merit and income are available for the eligible aspirants. Each Sainik School provides a particular amount of scholarship. In order to check the Sainik School scholarship 2018 of the particular state, aspirants are advised to check their official website. The Sainik School Scholarship is provided by the Ministry of Defence.

Sainik School Admission Eligibility

As mentioned earlier, aspirants willing to apply for Sainik School admission 2018 must apply after checking the eligibility conditions. The basic Sainik School 2018 eligibility criteria which must be fulfilled by candidates are:

  • Nationality: Candidates must be of Indian nationality
  • Qualification for class 6: Aspirants should be studying in class 5 in a recognized school
  • Qualification for class 9: Students must be studying in class 8 in a recognized school are eligible to appear for AISSEE admission test for class 9

Sainik School Age Eligibility

  • Age for class 6 students: Candidates appearing for admission test in class 6 be of age 10 to 11 years old. Such boys should have born between 2 July 2008 to 1 July 2009
  • Age for class 9 students: Boys applying for Sainik School admission test 2018 must be of age 13 to 14 years. These candidates must have born between 2 July 2005 to 1 July 2006

Sainik School Admission Form

The application form of Sainik School admission test 2018 is available from 8 October 2018 in online mode. Only boys are eligible to fill Sainik School Admission Form 2018. Likewise last year, Sainik Society will be releasing a common application form for admission to all Sainik Schools.

Sainik School Entrance Exam Admit Card 2018

The admit card of Sainik School 2018 will be available in the third week of December 2018. Only aspirants whose application form will be accepted by the authority can download the Sainik School admit card 2018 in online mode. Candidates need to enter the Sainik School Registration Number and Password to download the admit card. A link to access the Sainik School 2018 admit card will be provided on this page once it will be released. AISSEE admit card will display of candidates, date as well as the time and venue of examination. It is mandatory for candidates to download and take a printout of Sainik School admit card to carry at the exam centre.

Sainik School Exam Centres 2018

The exam centres of Sainik School 2018 are the venue at which the entrance examination will be conducted. Last year, Sainik School admission test was conducted in a total of 228 Sainik School exam centres across 36 state of India. While filling the application form, candidates are required to provide their preferences of Sainik School 2018 exam centres. The allotment of exam centres will be done strictly on the basis of preferences filled. The details such as name and complete address of examination centres will be available in the admit card.

Sainik School Exam Pattern 2018

Sainik School entrance examination will be conducted in offline mode and aspirants have to mark their answers in OMR sheet provided at the centre. AISSEE 2018 for class 6 will contain 125 questions, while admission test for Class 9 will contain 150 questions.

Sainik School Entrance Exam Answer Key

Sainik School Admission 2018 - Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be done for any of the Class will be done based on entrance test. The method of selecting the candidates are given below:

Sainik School Selection Process

  • Class 6: Based on an entrance test comprising Mathematics, Language, and Intelligence.
    • Sainik Schools admit boys in class 6 on the basis of their merit in the Entrance Examination and an Interview.
  • Class 9 - Based on entrance test comprising Mathematics, Science, English and Social Science followed by Interview and medical examination.
    • Sainik Schools admit boys in class 9 on the basis of their merit in the Entrance Examination and an Interview.
  • Class 11 - Boys are admitted on the basis of the marks scored in Class 10 Board examination.

Sainik School Merit List 2018

As mentioned earlier, the result will be released in the form of Sainik School merit list 2018. The merit list for written exam will be published on 4 February, while the final merit list will be declared in last week of March 2019. Sainik School 2018 merit list will be prepared on the basis of scores secured in the entrance examination.

Sainik School 2018 Merit List – Tie-breaking method

In case the overall marks of two or more candidates will be equal, then the authority will follow the tie-breaking method. As per the official tie-breaking method:

Sainik School Interview 2018

Candidates who will qualify in Sainik School Admission 2018 test will be called for interview session. In addition to the 300 marks prescribed for written examination for class 6 and 400 marks for class 9, a total of 50 marks will be set apart for the interview. It will not be necessary for a boy to qualify separately in the interview. The marks obtained in the written test and interview taken together will determine the position of aspirants in Sainik School merit list.

Sainik School Admission – Reservation Policy

In the Sainik School admission, out of the total Sainik School Seats following are reserved for the SC/ST/children of service personnel and other category-wise candidates:

  • Scheduled Caste - 15%
  • Scheduled Tribes - 7.5%
  • Boys from the state in which Sainik School is located - 67%
  • Boys from other States and UTs - 33%
  • Children of service personnel (ex-servicemen) - 25%
