SOF 2nd level exam guidelines are for the level two exam of NSO, IMO & IEO. The second level will be held on 9 February 2020 at over 600 centres across 25 countries, and SOF World has released the essential guidelines, for the exam. First of all, we would like to congratulate all the students who qualified Level 1 of the SOF Olympiad examination that is NSO, IEO & IMO. These students will now appear in Level 2 of the Olympiad exams.
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) recently released the guidelines for the students who have qualified for the Level 2 examination of SOF Olympiad. These guidelines are common for all students irrespective of the fact that they qualified the Level 2 examination of IMO or NSO or IEO.
NOTE: Until 2017, the 2nd level exam was also conducted for NCO, but now 2nd level exam will be conducted in English, Science & Mathematics Olympiads that are IEO, NSO & IMO. From 2018 IGKO, ICSO & NCO were conducted as single level exams. ICO is the new olympiad that was conducted for the first time this year.
SOF Olympiad Criteria for Qualification for 2nd Level
- Top 5% of students, class-wise who appear for the 1st level exam. Due priority to marks scored in different sections will be given.
- Zone wise top 25 rank holders will qualify for 2nd level from each class.
- Class topper from each participating school will be selected for the 2nd level exam. In case registration is received section wise, students with highest marks, irrespective of the section will qualify for the 2nd level.
- Student of class 1 and 2 are not required to appear for the 2nd level exam. Such students are ranked based on their performance in the 1st level exam.
SOF Olympiad level 2 Exam Date
As per the guidelines, the Level 2 examination will be organised on 9 February 2020 at 600 centres located around the globe. The details related to the test centre and the schedule of the exam will be informed to the candidate in their admit card. The important dates related to the Level 2 Olympiad examination are:

SOF Olympiad Level Exam Dates
The exam will be conducted on 9 February 2020 and the students should report at the designated exam centre 30 minutes before the exam time to avoid hustle in filling their particulars in the OMR sheet. The schedule of exams will be as follow:
- International English Olympiad - 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
- National Science Olympiad - 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon
- International Mathematics Olympiad - 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
SOF Olympiad 2nd Level Admit Card
2nd Level Admit Card will be made available by the first week of February 2020. The admit cards will be couriered & emailed to schools and will also be available on the website of Science Olympiad Foundation. (Download Admit Card)
- Students are required to paste their passport size photographs on both the copies of admit card and get the photograph attested by the head of the institution.
- A student without both the copies of admit card duly attested by the Head of the Institution will not be allowed to appear in the examination, one copy of the admit card will be retained at the examination centre.
- In case the student did not receive their admit card, Level 1 admit card with an attested photograph can also be used. Details related to the examination centre can be obtained by sending email to info@sofworld.org OR result@sofworld.org
- Candidates will be allowed to admit cards & Pen/Pencils only, any other material including electronic gadgets found with the candidate will result in the expulsion of the candidate from the examination

SOF Olympiad 2nd Level Exam Guidelines
SOF 2nd Level Exam will contain no negative marking in Level 2 exam, and the pattern will be slightly different from Level 1 exam, the exam pattern to be followed for IMO, NSO & IEO is given below. The candidates appearing in the 2nd level of the different olympiads of the Science Olympiad Foundation are suggested to go through the exam pattern given below.
