JEE Main Colleges 2018 – Candidates appeared in engineering entrance examination can check the list of colleges accepting JEE Main 2018 scores for admission to B.Tech course. On the basis of performance in JEE Main scores, candidates will be granted admission to JEE Main participating colleges 2018. There is a total of 119 colleges accepting JEE Main scores for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. In order to be eligible for admission to JEE Main 2018 colleges, aspirants must fulfil the necessary eligibility conditions set by the designated authority. However, for admission to IITs, candidates have to be in the top 2,24,000 JEE Main qualifiers and appear in JEE Advanced. Candidates can check the list of JEE Main colleges 2018 who will be granted admission on the basis of scores obtained in JEE Main.

  • Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has set up Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to regulate and manage seat allocation in 87 institutes. Joint seat allocation for 18 IITs, ISM Dhanbad, 31 NITs, 18 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) is done through JoSAA.
  • Some engineering colleges accepting JEE Main Score will conduct their individual counselling for admission.
  • Candidates who will qualify the JEE Advanced 2018 are eligible to register for seat allocation in all participating Institutes while those who have appeared in JEE Main can get admission in NITs + other engineering colleges accepting JEE Main Score. (except IITs & ISM).
  • The result of JEE Main for Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be declared on 30 April and 30 May 2018 respectively. The scores of JEE Main 2018 will be published online along with the qualifying status for JEE Advanced.

How is JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) Calculated?

Participating Colleges invite admission on the basis of JEE Main All India Rank. The rank list of students will be published by 30 April 2018 for Paper 1 whereas the rank for Paper 2 will be available by 30 May 2018. The All India Rank of JEE Main 2018 will be calculated taking the score of JEE Main 2018 and Class 12 (Qualifying Exam). After the JEE All India Ranks are announced then the JEE Main Counselling 2018 will begin for admission in JEE Main Colleges.

JEE Main Accepting Colleges 2018

JEE Main Counselling is for admission into NITs, IIITs, State/Centre funded technical Institutes throughout the country. Apart from the participating institutes, many of the other institutes/ states also offer admission in the engineering courses on the basis of JEE Main score. These Institutes accept JEE Main score but conduct their individual counselling for admission. All the participating institutes that do not use the centralised Seat Allocation Process will prepare their own ranking.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) set up by Ministry of Health Resources and Development (MHRD) conducts the counselling session for admission to 77 institutes. JEE Main Colleges 2018 and Eligibility Criteria

Admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs is to be done on the basis of JEE Main All India Rank. Candidates must secure a good rank to be eligible for admission. However, besides securing a good rank, aspirants must fulfil the eligibility criteria for admission. As per JEE Main eligibility criteria, candidates have to pass class 12 or equivalent examination with minimum 75% marks for general category (65% for SC/ST candidates) or to be in the top 20 percentile. For admission into B.Tech or B.Arch courses, students must also satisfy the following admission criteria:

  • For B.E./B.Tech – Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination with subjects Physics and Mathematics as main subjects along with the additional subject from Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.
  • B.Arch/B.Plan – Aspirants must qualify class 12 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as the main subject.

Note: If a state decides to admit candidates in the state engineering colleges, then the state counselling authority will prepare a separate merit list on the basis of set criteria.

States Accepting JEE Main Score 

Seven states have joined JEE Main mode. Hence, these states will not conduct separate State level Engineering Entrance Exam for admission to Engineering colleges. Candidates seeking admission in any of these states are also advised to appear for JEE Main 2018. These states accept JEE Main Score but conduct their Individual Counselling for admission.

Admission in Delhi Colleges through JEE Main 2018

Basic Eligibility Criteria for colleges in Delhi accepting JEE Main 2018 scores:

  • Candidate placed in CBSE merit list based on JEE main Score (60%) and scores in class 12 or other qualifying exams (40%)
  • 85% seats are reserved for the students belonging to Delhi region, who have passed their qualifying exam from boards/ Institutes within NCT of Delhi.
  • 15% seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to outside Delhi.
  • The admission will be on the basis of common counselling known as JAC Delhi 2018 Counselling.

Earlier DTU, IIIT Delhi and IGDTUW admitted students on the basis of Common counselling known as JAC Delhi Counselling and from last year, NSIT has also joined the league and for admission 2018-19 these 4 institutes will accept students on the basis of common counselling.
