JEE Main 2018 Application Form 

JEE Main 2018 Application Form is available on the official website of JEE Main from 1 December 2017, and the last date to apply is 1st week of January 2018. Students have to fill up the Online JEE Main Application Form 2018 through JEE Main website. There is no option to fill up the form offline. The fees, however, can be paid either through the online or offline mode.Candidates are allowed to submit only one JEE Main application form. More than one application i.e., Multiple applications from a candidate will be rejected. Application fee once paid will not be refunded (full or partial) under any circumstances.

JEE Main 2018  is a joint entrance examination for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and as the first step for admission to IITs. Students who qualify Stage 1 i.e. JEE Main have to apply for JEE Advanced 2018 for admission to IITs and ISM Dhanbad.

JEE Main Application Form 2018 - Apply Online Only 


Candidates can fill the JEE Main Application form Online through the Internet from any place of convenience. JEE Main application form filling will start from 1 December 2017, and the last date to apply will be 1st week of January 2018. From this year, Aadhaar Card details have been made mandatory for all candidates for filling their JEE Main Application Form, except those of J&K, Assam and Meghalaya.

Steps involved in the JEE Main Application Process 2018

  • STEP 1: Fill in the Online Application Form.
  • STEP 2: Upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb Impression.
  • STEP 3: Pay Examination Fee by Debit/Credit card or e-challan (generated after submission of details in online application form).
  • STEP 4: Download Acknowledgement Slip and keep the same in safe custody for future reference.

Other Specifications for the Photograph

  • The photograph should be colour or b/w (but clear contrast) with the name of the candidate and date printed on it as shown below.
  • It should be without cap or goggles.
  • Spectacles are allowed.
  • Polaroid photos are not acceptable.
  • Candidates with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected.
  • Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination, Counselling and Admission
  • The candidates should provide all the required details while filling up the online form

Instructions for Filling JEE Main Online Application Form 2018 

  • No prefix/title such as Mr/Shri/Fr/Dr/Mrs/Smt/Col etc. should be used for writing the name of Mother and Father.
  • Before filling up the application form, the candidate should have a scanned image of his/her photograph, signature and thumb impression. These scanned images are to be uploaded during the submission of application form.

Aadhaar Card Mandatory for Filling JEE Main Application Form 2018


  • The Indian candidates who want to apply for JEE Main 2018 should have Aadhaar Card number issued by UIDAI. The candidates must have to enter correct their Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender which will be validated with the UIDAI's data. 
  • Candidate's who do not possess their Aadhar Card are required to make application for Aadhar enrolment in case he/she is entitled to obtain Aadhar by visiting any Aadhar enrollment centre.
  • CBSE has specially set up facilitation Centre for those applicant's who have not yet enrolled for Aadhar card number. The Applicant who has enrolled for Aadhaar and has not received Aadhaar should enter 28 digit Aadhar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhar enrolment slip at the time of filling the online application form for JEE Main 2018.
  • The Aadhar Card is not mandatory for the candidates of J&K, Assam and Meghalaya. Those Candidates can enter their ration card number, passport number, bank number and other valid government identity number provided they should select the city of examination in these states only.

Payment of Application Fees for JEE Main 2018

JEE Main 2018 Application Form fee can be made through the following ways.

  • Credit/debit card
    • Additional charges on Payment through Credit Card: In case the examination fee is paid through credit cards, the candidates will need to pay an additional processing charge of 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable
    • Additional charges on Payment through Debit Card: 0.75% +taxes for examination fee up to Rs.2000 and 1% +taxes for examination 
      fee more than Rs.2,000
  • E-Challan generated after successful submission of JEE Main online application form.  The fee through e-Challan may be deposited in any branch of Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank
  • Mention Mobile Number and E-mail id: The candidate should mention only his/her own or parents’ mobile no. And Email ID while submitting the On-Line application, as all the communications will be sent to the candidates on their registered Mobile Number and E-mail ID only.

JEE Main Exam Date / Slot for the computer based exam can be selected by the candidate after payment of the application fees. If the candidate does not give preference to the exam date, then they will be given random exam dates.

In case the students do not receive any SMS or e-mail from CBSE that means there is no correction to be made in the Image.

Submission of JEE Main 2018 Application Form

Once the payment is successfully completed, and the duly filled in application form along with the above-mentioned documents has been submitted, candidates will get a confirmation page. Keep a copy of this. This is only for the reference. Candidates are required NOT to send any document to JEE Main Secretariat.

Some Important Things to be kept in Mind

  • Note down JEE Main Application form and keep it safely for future use.
  • Application form no. will be useful for future reference and for downloading JEE Main 2018 Admit card.
  • Maintain a separate folder and keep a copy of all the application forms that you fill as this will save your precious time in future.
  • Keep a copy of DD or the pay in the slip or the transaction details if you have paid the fees online.
  • It is good to be organised and keep all your things in order so that you use your precious time in preparing and not just finding your documents on time.
  • Use of gadgets (like the calculator and mobile phones) is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.

JEE Main 2018 Application form correction

JEE Main 2018 Application Form Correction will also be available in the month of January 2018. Students who have committed any mistake while filling up the application form can correct it in the given period.  That would be the final call from JEE for correction in the application form.

JEE Main 2018 Image Discrepancy

CBSE checks the images submitted by the students. If it finds any discrepancy in the image, it sends an e-mail and SMS to the registered e-mail id and mobile number of the student. The student should stay alerted as the process will take close to 1 month.
