UP Scholarship Latest News - The UP scholarship application started on 1 July for pre-matric as well as post-matric scholarship. The UP Pre Matric scholarship application closed on 10 September and UP Post Matric application will be closed on 10 October 2019.
UP Government would be awarding scholarships to students from Class 1 to College level and is divided into two that is UP Post Matric scholarship and UP Pre Matric scholarship. UP scholarship is for SC, ST, OBC and Minority students and is not for General Category students. The scholarship is given based on the annual family income of the student and category and is not a merit-based scholarship.
With the population of nearly 20.5 crore people, approximately 1.3 crore students applied under Pre Matric and Post Matric Scholarship last year for the scholarship to continue their education. The students studying outside the state will only get the scholarship if enrol in either government or government-aided institute for higher studies. UP Scholarship Sanction of Rs. 551.28 crores Notification (12 Apr 2018)
Uttar Pradesh Government has sanctioned the amount of Rs. 551.28 Crore under the Post-matric Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Other Backward Cast (Excluding minorities backward class).
UP Scholarship Amount
From 2017-18, the scholarship amount is paid to students through online payments, and it would be credited to their account from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 12000 and also the tuition fees will be refunded for the higher studies. The Scholarship amount may vary according to the course being pursued by the students. UP scholarship amount will be funded into the student’s account.

If we talk about the registration, then approximately 1.3 crore students applied for UP scholarship. However, only 1.13 crore entered their details and out of them, 89 lakhs students submitted their form.

UP Scholarship Registration Numbers for 2017-18
If we talk about the registration, then approximately 1.3 crore students applied for UP scholarship. However, only 95 lakhs entered their details and out of them, 86 lakhs students submitted their form.

UP Scholarship Applications Status Problems
Students facing lots of problem one of them is they see “SUSPECT” written in their application status though they are assured that it would be removed once the application form will be verified. Others are claiming that they did not get the full scholarship amounts and while some are angry to not get scholarship last year. However, it is cleared that previous year scholarship will not be given to those who are left to get it as the fund was already distributed among the students.
The scholarship amount will be funded into the student’s account from 15 March until 10 April 2019, some are happy as they got it, though some are still waiting, on the other hands there are lots of students who are seeing the pending in their status though they would not need to worry and advised to wait till 10 April 2019.
- What does suspect applications Status mean?
Students Seeing "SUSPECT" written in their application status due to some information which is being suspected, however, after verification, it would be removed, and the scholarship amount would be credited. If everything is found correct and there is no mistake in the data provided, definitely students will get the scholarship.
- What Does pending application status mean?
The Pending application means that the individual form is in the queue and will be forwarded soon once it is locked digitally from their respective district, it will be credited the into the student's account.
How to get the UP Scholarship in your Bank Account
Students are advised to update and keep their bank account that is given for scholarship active. In case the scholarship amount is more than Rs. 50000 then the students' Aadhar Number must be linked to their bank account. The scholarship disbursal process is active, and everyone will get the scholarship.
For renewal of the scholarship: Students who want to continue taking advantage of the scholarship needed to renew it. It is advised to all the students who applied for the scholarship to wait till 10 April and keep checking their account regularly.
