The Madras High Court has issued a notice to ICAR for re-conducting AIEEA 2018 entrance examination. B. Murugavel filed a petition to re-conduct ICAR AIEEA exam on 4 July, which was later on adjourned to 11 July. Based on Madras HC orders, on 12 July the competent authority ICAR has released a notification to cancel the 23rd ICAR AIEEA All India Entrance Examination for admission to UG, PG and PhD courses due to administrative reasons. ICAR 2018 exam was held on 22 and 23 June. The fresh dates for ICAR re-exam have not been announced yet but will be available on this page as soon as it will be released.

B. Murugavel, the resident of Adyar, filed a petition to conduct a re-examination of AIEEA. Justice S. Vaidyanathan on Wednesday 4 July, ordered notice to the Deputy Director General (Education), Division of Agricultural Engineering, ICAR, New Delhi for the further hearings. The matter was later on adjourned to 11 July 2018. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducted AIEEA on 22 and 23 June for admission to UG, PG and PhD courses. The exam was conducted in the computer-based mode for the first time.

What does the ICAR AIEEA Re-Exam petition include?
In the petition, Murugavel asked ICAR to conduct the examination again. His daughter, M. Priyadarshini aspired to get admission in B.Sc Agriculture after completing her higher secondary education. Priyadarshini appeared for ICAR AIEEA 2018 exam conducted on 23 June.
Issues faced during AIEEA 2018 exam conducted by ICAR
The girl complained that all the computers used in the examination centre were down due to the technical hitch. Thereafter, the questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects were not clearly seen on the screen. She was asked to use another computer by the examiners. She was facing the same problem constantly after using 12 computers.
What were the consequences?
Due to the technical hitch, the examination was delayed for more than one and a half hour. Therefore, she was unable to answer all the questions within the stipulated time. Not only M. Priyadarshini, but all the 32 other candidates faced the same problem at the centre. On 28 June 2018, she sent a representation to Deputy Director General (Education), Division of Agricultural Engineering, ICAR, New Delhi.
Other Controversies on ICAR AIEEA 2018
As per the media reports, a circular has been issued by All India Agricultural Student Association (AIASA) stating that they have received over 1,000 emails complaining irregularities, cheating, fraud and mismanagement of ICAR online examination.
At some centres, the number of computers was lesser than the number of students. Students also faced log in issues at the beginning of 23rd ICAR entrance examination. The circular read that some questions only had two options whereas some had no options to mark the answers.
AIASA Gujarat State President, Anurag Bhargava also stated in the letter that this type of situations is not expected from ICAR 2018 national level exam.
ICAR Result 2018 Delayed
Meanwhile, the apex body is expected to declare ICAR result 2018 on or after 9 July. ICAR released a notification on 3 July, withdrawing the date of ICAR AIEEA 2018 result. Due to the notification, ICAR Counselling 2018 has also been extended, which was earlier expected to begin from 1 July 2018.
Based on the result, 15% UG seats from State Agricultural Universities will be granted through ICAR rank. While 100% seats of Deemed Universities will be offered through ICAR. Therefore, aspirants can check the list of ICAR colleges 2018 for preferences.
