ICAR 2021 Entrance Exam - Dates Announced

ICAR 2021 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on 7, 8 and 9 September for admission into UG, 17 September 2021 for PG and PhD admission in colleges across India. The ICAR application process 2021 has started on 25 July 2021 and ended on 20 August 2021. ICAR 2021 will be conducted in computer-based mode across India. Aspirants securing the ICAR cut off will be considered qualified. General category aspirants need to secure a minimum of 50% in UG program. ICAR 2021 counselling will be done on the basis of rank obtained. ICAR AIEEA is the basis for admission to 1799 UG seats across 11 programmes and 471 PG seats offered in 97 subjects. ICAR UG Exam will contain 150 questions that are 50 each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics/ Agriculture. ICAR AIEEA 2021 is of 600 marks. 

About ICAR: It is a council that conducts All Indian Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) for admission in Agricultural colleges for UG & PG courses in India. It is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.

• AIEEA UG: This is the 25th All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA 2021) for admission to 15% seats in Agriculture Universities (AU)  in Bachelor Degree programmes and 100% seats in NDRI Karnal, RLB CAU Jhansi and DR.RP CAU PUSA
• AIEEA PG: The exam is for filling 25% seats in Agricultural Universities and 100% in ICAR Deemed to be Universities in the academic session 2021.

In India, there are a total of 74 Agriculture Universities (AU). ICAR score for admission into various undergraduate & postgraduate courses will be accepted by 51 Agriculture universities.

15% seats in 63 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticulture and Fisheries universities will be filled through the ICAR Entrance exam and 100% seats in Central Universities will be filled via ICAR 2021 exam.

During 2020-21, against the total of 2865 Seats, 2072 candidates were recommended by ICAR for admission to accredited Bachelor degree programmes in 62 accredited AUs under the ICAR-AU system

• Nationality: Must be an Indian National.
• Age: Not less than 16 years as of 31 August 2021.
• Academic Qualification for AIEEA UG
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within the scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of an Indian Board/ university after a period of 12 years of study with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Agriculture/Home Science
  • They should have passed the 10+2 examination with the subjects required as per the course with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC (NCL) and UPS categories. However, the candidates belonging to the  SC/ ST/ PwBD/Third Gender category need 40% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates appearing in class 12 or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for admission in Agricultural colleges in India for the UG programme.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC and UPS categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST and PC categories as per the subjects required for the particular course. The course-wise requirement of the subjects is given in the table below.
• Universities situated in the Non-Hindi Speaking States: The candidates seeking admission to the universities specifically located in the non-Hindi speaking areas must have passed English as a core subject in the 10+2 examination.
• Candidate with Compartment and Supplementary - The candidate with a supplementary and compartment in any subject are not eligible for the exam unless they submit the proof of having cleared the examination with a requisite percentage as given above.

ICAR AIEEA UG: Subjects Eligibility

 ICAR 2020 Exam gives Admissions to 11 Bachelor degree programmes of four years duration in the following subjects and is categorised into two Degrees. The candidate has a right to exercise the option only for one degree at the time of submitting the application. The option once exercised cannot be changed.

The application process for the ICAR Exam started on 25 July 2021. Candidates can apply to ICAR Exam in online mode only. This is a common application for AIEEA UG, AIEEA PG, AIEEA PhD. The last date to fill the application form is 20 August 2021.

• The candidates will have to visit the official website and click the option of filling online application ICAR form. The candidates are advised to read the prospectus carefully before filling the application form.
• Candidate can either opt for making fee payment through i.e. Debit/ Credit card, Net Banking and Unified Payment Interface (UPI) in SBI Bank or ICICI Bank or HDFC Bank or Syndicate Bank or Cash Deposit through e-challan at SBI/Syndicate Bank Branches only:

ICAR Application Fee

The ICAR Application Fee for the different categories is given in the table below. Candidates should select the right category while filling the application form. The application fee has increased for all the categories.

Submission of ICAR Online Form

Candidates are advised to check the details of the application form before the final submission because once the application gets processed then the candidates will not be able to do any changes. The candidates are also advised to keep at least three printouts of the application form and three photographs that were uploaded with the application form for future reference.

ICAR Exam Centres

ICAR Exam will be conducted in 178 cities in the country and the candidates can give preference of up to 3 exam cities while filling up the application form. The exam city once allotted cannot be changed and the exam centre will be available on the ICAR admit card along with the roll number.

ICAR  Admit Card 2021

Admit Card for ICAR AIEEA will be available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date. The candidates should know that the admit card will not be dispatched through the post to the candidates, so no correspondence in this regard will be considered.   

Admit Card is an important document to be carried at the exam centre. Therefore, in the case of any problem related to admit card, the candidates are advised to contact. The Nodal Officer of the respective Examination City Centre, two days before the scheduled Examination Date.

ICAR Admit Card 2021

The result of ICAR 2020 to be declared by 17 July 2020 on the official website of ICAR. After the result get declared the website will also release the scorecard. The seats will be offered to the candidates on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in UG and PG All India Entrance examination.  ICAR Result 2020 

The candidate is allowed to take admission in a specific programme at an Agricultural University as per his/her choice and availability of seat at that merit-rank through a process of counselling.

ICAR AIEEA Counselling 2020

Candidate will be recommended for admission to the subject/degree programme of choice in the Agricultural Universities on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination and availability of seats at his/her merit-rank during counselling. ICAR Counselling 2020 will be held for all the candidates who are in the merit list. 

ICAR Scholarship given after counselling

National Talent Scholarships (NTS) is awarded after the counselling ends. The scholarship is awarded based on the ICAR examination to all those candidates who take admission outside their state of domicile.

ICAR Exam Question paper for the examination shall be in ENGLISH.  The candidates will be provided with rough sheets on the day of the exam. The important points related to the question paper pattern is given below.

• Mode of Exam - Computer Based Exam
• Duration of Exam - 150 minutes
• It will have 150 multiple choice objective type questions and each question will have four options each
• Each correctly answered question will earn four marks with a maximum of 600 marks for the paper.
• There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer or question with multiple answers.
