CBSE is all set to host the World’s 42nd World Book Fair which is also being organized by the National Book Trust. Fair will be held between February 15 and 23. It is aimed to promote reading skills and interest in the same in teachers, librarians, parents and of course children.
"With computer-generated games, electronic devices and programmes battling for children's attention, educators and parents need to give children every opportunity to explore the wonders of the written word," said CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi.
The statement also claimed that children who read regularly tend to perform better in areas of their school life than those who don’t read. Also, this fair will help in instilling life skills in kids through reading and prepare them to face the professional world outside their schools.
The CBSE promotes co-scholastic activities all round the year to encourage students to be active outside academics as well.
