JEE Main Registration 2019 - NTA to release JEE Application on 1 Sept

JEE Main Registration 2019 – National Testing Agency will be starting online JEE application process from 1 September 2018 (tentative) for the January 2019 session. Candidates must complete JEE Main registration 2019 before the end date to appear for the entrance test. While filling JEE Main application form, students must make sure that they enter all the details correctly and upload all the necessary documents. NTA will be conducting JEE Main 2019 twice, i.e. on the month of January and April 2019. For both the sessions, candidates are required to apply separately for the test.

Before starting with JEE application, candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria of the test. If candidates fail to meet any of the eligibility norms, then their candidature will be cancelled on or before the admission rounds. For the first time, NTA will be conducting JEE, and it will be held twice. Also, from this year onwards, the entrance test will be held in a computer-based mode only. JEE Main 2019 is expected to be held between 6 to 20 January 2019 across various cities. JEE Main 2019 changes introduced by NTA

Some of the major changes introduced by NTA on JEE Main are -

  • JEE Main 2019 will be a computer based test only
  • Entrance test will be held twice a year i.e. on January and April
  • Exam will be held in 8 sittings
  • Artificial Intelligence will be used during the exam to provide questions to candidates

JEE Main Registration 2019 - Required Documents

Before filling JEE Main application form 2019, students must make sure that they keep all the necessary documents and details ready. The following are the important documents that candidates must keep ready during JEE registration 2019 -

  • Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Number
  • Candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya or Jammu & Kashmir can provide any valid photo ID instead of Aadhaar Card
  • A valid email ID
  • A valid mobile number
  • As per the specifications mentioned below, scanned copies of the candidate's passport size photograph and signature of both the candidate and guardian
  • Academic details (Class 10 and 12)
  • Details about their credit, debit card or internet banking to pay the JEE application fees

To avoid technical glitches, candidates are advised to make sure that the internet connection is stable. Also, they are advised to use the following web browsers -

JEE Main Registration 2019 - Apply for JEE Main 2019

JEE Main Registration 2019 is going to start from 1 September and end on 30 September 2018 for candidates who will give exams in the month of January 2019. The exams are going to be conducted by NTA twice a year from 2019 hence, therefore, candidates will have to register separately for JEE Main 2019 exams in April. The registration will be done through online mode only.

How to apply for JEE Main 2019

Given below are the steps to fill the registration form of JEE Main 2019. Candidates can follow the given steps to avoid any mistakes while filing the registration form.

  • Step 1 - Register as a candidate using the link given below
  • Step 2 - Fill all the required details in the registration form
  • Step 3 - Upload a scanned image of a photograph and signature of the candidate
  • Step 4 - Make the payment via Credit card/debit card/net-banking and submit the application form

STEP 1: (Registration and Form Filling) - To start with the application process, students are required to fill the JEE registration form by clicking on the 'Apply for JEE (Main) - 2019 button. Then, they are required to enter their name, father's and mother's name, state of eligibility, category, date of birth, gender, nationality, etc.

STEP 2: (Uploading Photograph and Signature) - After filling the above details, candidates are required to make sure that they entered details are error-free. Now, candidates are required to upload the scanned images of their photograph. Also, candidates are required to upload the scanned images of candidates and their father, mother or guardian. Candidates must make sure that the images must meet the size and other requirements.

STEP 3: (Payment and Submission) - Once the candidates are done with filling up the form and uploading photographs, they have to make the payment of the fee, which can be done via Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. After that, the candidates have to submit the application form. Post submission, the candidates are suggested to download Acknowledgement Slip and keep the same in safe custody for future reference.

JEE Registration 2019 - Points to remember

  • The size and format of the scanned image should strictly be as mentioned below. Even the slightest difference will make the image unacceptable.
  • Candidate’s photograph should be without any cap and goggles but spectacles are allowed.
  • Polaroid photos are not accepted.
  • The photograph should be clear whether it is of the candidate or the candidate’s signature.
  • Candidates who receive the email regarding any discrepancy in the image can correct the image, this correction can take up to 1 month also.

Aadhaar Card requirement for filling JEE Main 2019 Registration Form

  • While registering for JEE Main 2019, it is very important that the candidate updates the correct Aadhaar Card details as these details are checked by the authorities.
  • The candidates who do not have an Aadhaar card will first have to apply for Aadhaar Card and obtain an Aadhaar Enrolment number and register for JEE Main 2019 using the same enrolment number.
  • The Aadhaar card is not mandatory for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. Such candidates can enter ration card number, passport number, bank number and other valid government identity number provided the selected state for examination is the same.

Payment methods of JEE Main 2019 Registration Fee

Candidates can make the payment fee for JEE Main 2019 using the below-mentioned mode of payment

Payment through Debit/Credit card

  • If the payment is done using Debit Card, then 0.75% + taxes is charged for examination fee up to Rs. 2000 and 1% + taxes is charged for examination fees of more than Rs. 2000.
  • If the payment is done using Credit Card, then an additional processing charge of 1.20% of the examination fee plus applicable GST is charged.

Payment through E-Challan

  • An E-Challan is generated after successful submission of JEE Main online registration form. Fee paid using E-Challan has to be deposited in any of the branches of Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank

Submission of JEE Main 2019 Registration Form

After the successful payment of Registration fee and submission of application form, candidates will get a confirmation page and an email will also be sent regarding the same. Candidates need not require to send any documents to JEE Main Secretariat. Points to remember (H3)

  • Keep the NEET Application form safe as it will be needed to download JEE Main 2019 Admit Card when it is released.
  • It is advised to keep a copy of the online payment acknowledgement slip in PDF format or print it.
  • In case of payment through DD, keep a photocopy of it for future safety.

JEE Main 2019 Application form correction

JEE Main Application form correction will also be available after the ending of registration. Candidates who have committed any mistake in the registration form can correct the mistake in the given period. This is the last chance to correct any mistake and candidates are advised to not commit any more mistakes in this form.
