About ICAR 2018 Exam

ICAR 2018 exam is conducted for admission in UG, PG and JRF courses in various ICAR affiliated colleges. ICAR is a council which conducts All Indian Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) for admission in Agricultural colleges for UG & PG courses in India. It is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. ICAR 2018 Exam has been postponed and a new date of ICAR exam will be released soon. ICAR first notification was released in January 2018 which had the information regarding the ICAR Exam dates. Last year the application started in 2nd week of April and we are expecting the ICAR Application to start soon.

  • This will be the 23rd All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA UG 2018) for admission to 15% seats in Agriculture Universities in Bachelor Degree programmes and 100% seats in NDRI Karnal, RLB CAU Jhansi and DR.RP CAU PUSA
  • ICAR PG Exam is for filling 25% seats in Agricultural Universities and 100% in ICAR Deemed to be Universities in the academic session 2018. Names of the ICAR Universities to be Deemed Universities are:

ICAR 2018 Exam Eligibility criteria

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian National.
  • Age: Not less than 16 years as on 31 August 2018.
  • Academic Qualification
    • Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of an Indian Board/ University after a period of 12 years of study with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Agriculture/Home Science
    • The should have passed 10+2 examination with the subjects required as per the course with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC (NCL) and UPS categories. However, for the candidates belonging to the  SC/ ST/ PC category need 40% marks in aggregate.
    • Candidates appearing in class 12 or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for the admission in Agricultural colleges in India for UG programme.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC and UPS categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST and PC categories as per the subjects required for the particular course. The course wise requirement of the subjects is given in the table below.
  • Universities situated in the Non-Hindi Speaking States: The candidates seeking admission to the universities specifically located in the non-Hindi speaking areas must have passed English as a core subject in 10+2 examination.

ICAR 2018 Exam Application form and Admit Card

The application process for the ICAR Exam will start in April 2018. Candidates appearing in the ICAR Exam has to apply in online mode only. The application form has to be filled online only.  Candidates are advised to keep themselves updated on the website of Mota Chashma. 

  • The candidates will have to visit the official website and click the option of filling online application ICAR form.The link is also provided on this page.
  • The candidate can download the prospectus and then fill his/her form online.
  • Candidate can either opt for making fee payment through Bank Challan of SBBJ or through Credit / Debit card using Payment Gateway.

Submission of ICAR Online Form

Candidates are advised to check the details of the application form before the final submission because once the application gets processed then the candidates will not be able to do any changes. The candidates are also advised to keep at least two printouts of the application form with them for future reference.

The computer generated confirmation page of the online application and the proof of fee payment should be attached and the hard copy should be sent through Speed/ Registered post only at the following address before the due date.

ICAR  Admit Card

Admit Card will be available on the official website only for those eligible candidates who have submitted their duly filled application forms before the due date. The candidates should know that the admit card will not be dispatched through the post to the candidates, so no correspondence in this regard will be considered.   

Admit Card is an important document to be carried at the exam centre. Therefore, in the case of any problem related to admit card, the candidates are advised to contact. The Nodal Officer of the respective Examination City Centre, two days before the scheduled Examination Date.

ICAR 2018 Exam Result and Counselling

The result of ICAR 2018 is expected to be declared by July 2018 on the official website of ICAR. After the result get declared the website will also release the scorecard. The seats will be offered to the candidates on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in UG and PG All India Entrance examination.

ICAR 2018 Exam Exam pattern

ICAR Exam Question paper for the examination shall be bilingual, i.e., in ENGLISH and HINDI. The important points related to question paper pattern is given below.

  • Mode of Exam- Pen and Paper based Exam
  • It will have 180 multiple choice objective type questions i.e.
  • Questions will have four options each. The students have to answer the question with black/blue ball point pen.
  • Each correctly answered question will earn four marks with a maximum of 720 marks for the paper.
  • There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer or questions with multiple answers.

National Talent Scholarships (NTS) are awarded based on the ICAR examination to all those candidates who take admission outside their state of domicile. There is a nomination for admission to any Bachelor degree programme mentioned above,  there is no provision for the direct nomination, so the person has to qualify this examination.
