ICAR 2016 UG Exam

  • This is the 21st All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA UG 2016) for admission to 15% seats in Agriculture Universities in Bachelor Degree programmes and 100% seats in RLB, CAU Jhansi.
  • ICAR PG Exam is for filling 25% seats in Agricultural Universities and 100% in ICAR Deemed to be Universities in the academic session 2016-2017.ICAR Deemed to be Universities are
    • NDRI Karnal Haryana
    • IVRI-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh
    • IARI- Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi
    • CIFE-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai Maharashtra
    • SHIATS Allahabad- Formerly Allahabad Agriculture Institute)
  • ICAR’s 21st AIEEA-UG-2016 examination for the academic session 2016-17 will be conducted at 47 examination city centres spread all over the country.
  • ICAR Score for admission into various undergraduate & post graduate courses will be accepted by:
    • 59 State Agricultural, Veterinary, Horticulture and Fishery universities. (Colleges accepting ICAR Score)
    • 1 Central Agriculture University, Imphal
    • 5 ICAR Deemed Universities (given above)
    • 4 Central University having agriculture faculty ( BHU, AMU (for PG only), Vishwa Bharti & Nagaland University)

ICAR 2016 Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Must be an Indian National.
  • Age: Not less than 16 years as on August 31, 2016.
  • Academic Qualification
    • Candidate applying to Stream A- Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of an Indian Board/ University after a period of 12 years of study with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Agriculture/Home Science
    • Candidate applying toStream B- The should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent necessarily with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
    • Student appearing in class 12 or equivalent can also apply.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC and UPS categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST and PC categories.
  • Universities situated in the Non-Hindi Speaking States: For admission into such universities, the student must have passed English as the core subject in Class 12.
  • Students who had Intermediate with Agriculture but without Physics & Chemistry - These students can take admission into State Agriculture Universities (SAU) in Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand & Uttar Pradesh.

ICAR 2016 Application Process

The application form has to be filled online only. The Application fee can be paid through the bank challan or online. The Confirmation page should reach the university before the due date.

  • The candidate has to visit the official website and click the option of filling online application AIEEA UG-2016.
  • The candidate can download the prospectus and then fill his/her form online.
  • Candidate can either opt for making fee payment through Bank Challan of SBBJ or through Credit / Debit card using Payment Gateway.

In the case of any problem related to admit card the candidates are advised to contact The Nodal Officer of the respective Examination City Centre, two days before the scheduled Examination Date.

ICAR 2016 Selection Process

  • ICAR Exam 2016 Merit List:  The candidate is allowed to take admission to a specific programme at an Agricultural University as per his/her choice and availability of seat at that merit-rank through a process of counseling
  • Candidate will be recommended for admission in the subject/degree programme of choice in the Agricultural Universities on the basis of merit in the Entrance Examination and availability of seats at his/her merit-rank during counselling.
  • ICAR AIEEA UG Result 2016 is expected to be declared after 3rd Week of May.

ICAR 2016 Exam Pattern

  • ICAR Exam will be conducted in two streams and student can appear in any one of the two subjects:
    • Stream A comprising Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture/ Biology
    • Stream B comprising Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
  • Physics & Chemistry Exam will be common for both the streams. 


    Stream–A

    • There will be questions on Biology as well as Agriculture subject, out of
      which the candidate has to choose only one subject, either Biology or Agriculture.

    Stream–B

    • There will be questions on Mathematics subject.
  • ICAR Exam Question paper for the examination shall be bilingual, i.e., in ENGLISH and HINDI.
  • It will have 180 multiple choice objective type questions i.e.
Subject Questions
Physics 60 questions
Chemistry 60 questions
Agriculture/Biology/Mathematics 60 Questions
  • Questions will have four options each. The students have to answer the question with black/blue ball point pen.
  • Each correctly answered question will earn four marks. 
  • There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer or questions with multiple answers.

ICAR 2016 Important details

National Talent Scholarships (NTS) are awarded based on the AIEEA-UG examination to all those candidates who take admission outside their state of domicile.

Nomination for Admission: For admission to any Bachelor degree programme mentioned above,  there is no provision for the direct nomination, so the person has to qualify this examination.
