Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) has released the instruction for XAT examination which is going to be held on January 8, 2017. This instruction will help the candidates appearing in the examination to understand exam pattern and rules related to exam.
Xavier Aptitude Test also known as XAT is a pen & paper based entrance examination for admission to MBA program in the top management institutes across the country. On behalf of XAMI, XLRI conducts XAT examination every year. The latest instructions related to the XAT Exam have been released officially and the new changes rendered in the latest notification by XAT have been listed below.

Detailed Instructions for XAT 2017
The following instruction must be followed by the candidates during in the during the XAT examination, The XAT Exam Pattern for the XAT Exam 2017 released and the changes have been listed below.
- The candidates have to fill the required information on the answer sheet. The answer sheet will not be evaluated if the required details are not entered on the answer sheet (OMR).
- The XAT examination paper consists 2 parts that are paper 1 & 2. Part I has three sections A, B and C with 24, 21 and 27 questions respectively, i.e. a total of 72 questions. The three sections of Part I will be followed by Part 2 with 25 GK questions and an essay. If there is any problem with the test booklet, the candidates can inform the invigilator or supervisor immediately so they can get a replacement.
- The candidates are not allowed to ask any clarification on any item or question in the test booklet from the test invigilator. In the case of query, the applicants will have to use their best possible efforts.
- Total time for completing the three sections and general knowledge is 210 minutes. The candidates are expected to answer the first three sections within 170 minutes and General Knowledge in 35 minutes. Aim the candidates should be securing maximum scores in each section. General Knowledge marks will be used only for the final selection and not for shortlisting candidates for interview & GD.
- All questions carry equal marks. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- If the candidates leave question attempt, then it will result in 0.05 negative marking. However, this negative marking will not apply for a maximum of 12 unattempted questions. The negative marks for unattempted questions shall be deducted proportionately across the three sections.
