Swami Vivekananda Scholarship amount has been hiked from its previous amount Rs 45 crore to Rs 200 crore by the Government of Wes Bengal. Swami Vivekananda Scholarships is distributed by West Bengal Government to the poor and meritorious students to pursue secondary, diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate level studies whose annual income is less than Rs 2,50,000. The government of West Bengal is all set to offer Jahar Lal Chandra Merit Scholarship’ to 43 Secondary Examination toppers from different districts as per the Education Minister Partha Chatterjee, Each topper of the Jawahar Lal Nehru Scholarship will be getting Rs 50,000 Annually.
Apart from these changes, there are many more changes in the Government's Education Policy as said by the Parth Chatterjee, Earlier there were 13 universities in West Bengal and the present there are 23 educational universities for the students where every year more than 12,000 international students take admission. “we have again turned Bengal into an educational hub where 12,000 students are coming from abroad to study every year.”

Candidates need to fill the common form online by going to the link below. After filling it candidates can apply individually for the desired scholarships. This whole process is only done online. Once completing the online process, candidates have to paste the recently signed photo to the application form. After finalizing the form, download the verification certificate includes two pages, one is applicant copy and other is HOI (Head of the institution) copy. After verification and signed by HOI scan it and upload it to application portal to complete the process.
