For the first time, Delhi University (DU) is going to conduct online entrance examination for selecting the students for admission into Post-Graduation and Research Programmes. Now the candidates can appear in the online entrance examination in many parts of the country. The application process for Online Entrance Exam for DU PG Admission 2017 will begin in the first week of April 2017.
The University of Delhi has decided to outsource the process for the online entrance test. The DU administration has already issued a tender notice on calling for bids. However, the decision will result in a month delay in the application process. The online entrance examination will be conducted in 18 Major cities in India.

Generally, the process for PG application process in DU starts in the first half of April but due to the changing the mode of conducting entrance exam, the application process will be delayed this year.
- The university is also planning to create facilitation centres to familiarise the appearing candidates with a computer based online test. These centres will start functioning before 1 month of the entrance test.
- There will be 1 facilitation centre for every 10,000 candidates.
- The online entrance examination will be conducted in 18 Major cities in India.
- As per the plans prepared by the University examination branch, the online tests will consist of multiple choice questions and the total duration of the test will be 2 hours. The online entrance examination will be conducted in 3 shifts between 8 am and 6 pm.

A senior official from the DU examination branch said, “There is a delay in the application process, but admissions will be conducted on time as online tests can be completed in three to four days. The application process can be announced in the first week of May. This will bring in transparency. Moreover, this process will also increase the reach as instead of five cities, the entrance tests will be conducted across at least 18 cities“.
The online entrance test will also be conducted for admission into selected undergraduate modules such as Business Economics, Bachelor of Business Studies, B Ed, Law, BA (Hons), Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis.
