CBSE has denied the reports that NEET Phase 2 Question Paper had leaked. The board has assured that NEET 2 was conducted fairly across the country. The latest Press release of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the conducting body of NEET 2016 has cleared the air on Question paper leaked reports.
When seized, the leaked National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Phase 2 papers turned out to be fake it was different from the ones that eventually were answered by students across the country.
In the Press release, CBSE stated that it was an attempt made by some unscrupulous elements to cheat the candidates on false promises. “The question paper seized by the Uttarakhand Police from the persons involved in cheating were given to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The Board matched the question papers with the original question paper of NEET Phase 2 and found that the seized material is entirely different from the original question paper of NEET Phase 2” it added.
However, the fraudsters managed to trick the students and their parents of amounts ranging from Rs 10 to 50 lakh. On July 24, 2016, five people were arrested by the Nainital police in connection with the alleged leak NEET Phase 2 Question paper.
NEET Phase 2 was conducted on July 24, 2016. A total of 4,75,785 candidates registered for the second phase of the exam, amongst which more than 90 per cent candidates are reported to appear in the examination. The exam was conducted at 739 centers spread over 56 cities.
NEET result 2016 for both the phases will be declared on August 17, 2016.
