JEE Main counselling will commence after the announcement of JEE Main AIR on July 7, 2014. The counselling which was scheduled to begin from July 1 has been delayed and will begin from July 7. The delayed counselling is due to the inability of the state boards to submit the board marks of students on time.
Around 12.5 lakhs candidates will be allotted to different institutions through JEE Main counselling 2014 on the basis of their JEE Main Score. The candidates will be admitted to different IIITs, NITs and other centrally funded technical institutions.on the basis of JEE Main Ranks. Seat allocation to different institutions is carried out by Central Seat Allocation Board- CSAB
There are 30 NITS, 13 IIITs, IIITM and IIITDM and around 16 funded centrally and government-funded technical institutions which will participate in JEE Main Counselling 2014

Confirmation of Class 12 marks- Extended till July 3, 2014
The candidates are required to check and confirm their Class 12 marks or equivalent. They can review the marks they have been uploaded by putting their education board, their application number; JEE roll number and date of birth. However, in case of any confusion or any discrepancy in the class 12 marks the candidates can write to jeeboardmarks@gmail.com giving 'Confirmation of Class 12 Board Marks' in subject line and also upload the original mark sheet online latest by July 3 (midnight).
For polytechnic/engineering diploma holder candidate who also have class 12 Board Mark sheet
Polytechnic/ engineering diploma holders are eligible for admission to 2nd year (lateral entry) for B.Tech and B.Arch but if they have also done Class 12 from any board between 2012 and 2014 then they will be eligible for admission to 1st year in B.Tech/ B.Arch on the basis of class 12 marks/ certificate.
In case the Polytechnic/ engineering diploma holders want to be considered for admission in 1st year of B.Tech/B.Arch then they need to upload the Class 12 marksheet on the JEE website through link “Confirmation of Class 12 /Qualifying Examination Marks as Received from Board” latest by Juy 3, 2014 failing which it will be assumed that he/she is only diploma holder and will not be treated eligible for admission to 1st year in B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/ B.Planning .
