IIM Calcutta has released the CAT 2018 notification through a press release held on 28 July 2018. CAT 2018 is scheduled to be held on 25 November 2018. CAT is a computer based test held for admission to the 20 IIMs and other BSchools. Common Admission Test will be held in two sessions across 147 (approx) cities. CAT registration will start from 8 August 2018 and will be online. Candidates can apply for CAT 2018 until 19 September 2018. The duration of the test is 180 minutes and it will contain both MCQs and subjective questions. These CAT questions will be divided into three sections, which are VARC, DILR and QA. Also, the CAT 2018 notification is available in newspapers across the country on 29 July 2018.

CAT 2018 Details
As mentioned earlier, CAT 2018 will be held in a computer based mode and the questions will be based on Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). The duration of the test is 180 minutes and to complete each section, one hour will be allotted. There are 20 IIMs and will offer more than 4000 seats on the basis of CAT 2018 score. Also, apart from these IIMs, there are more than 100 BSchools that will accept CAT score.
To appear for CAT 2018, candidates must apply for the test. CAT registration 2018 is online and candidates must complete the process before the deadline to appear for the test. While filling CAT application form, aspirants must make sure that they enter all the details correctly. Also, one must make sure that the specifications of the uploaded documents match with the provided ones.
Before filling the application form, aspirants must make sure that they fulfil all the eligibility norms of CAT 2018. If candidates fail to meet any of the CAT eligibility criteria 2018, then their candidature will be cancelled. As per the eligibility norms of CAT 2018, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate.
This year the CAT mock test will be available from 17 October 2018. With the help of the mock test, CAT aspirants will be able to check their preparation level. The CAT 2018 mock test will be available online on the official website of CAT 2018.
Candidates who have filled the application form and submitted the same on or before the deadline will be allotted CAT admit card 2018. Applicants must note that the CAT 2018 hall ticket is an important document and candidates must keep the same safe until the conclusion of the admission process. On the day of the test, candidates must make sure that they carry the same to the examination hall.
This year, the exam date of CAT 2018 was announced at least two months before the expected date. This was done for the sole purpose of giving the candidates an ample amount of time to prepare for the test. The MCQs and non-MCQs in CAT exam will be challenging candidate's analytical and managerial skills.
This year CAT exam pattern will remain the same. Also, there won't be any major changes in the marking scheme of CAT 2018. Just like previous years, CAT 2018 will also be held in two different slots. To complete the test, candidates will be allotted 180 minutes and for each section, 60 minutes will be allotted.
