DU Admissions 2018: Forensic Experts will inspect Certificates. Delhi University authorities have decided to recruit forensic experts to identify fake mark sheets and certificates. It is done in order to inspect such rackets that have been making and using forged documents and mark sheets and have been fooling the authorities and admission counsellors. All this will be done for the coming academic year 2018-19.

Forensic Experts Hired by DU Colleges - What’s the Issue
According to an official of Delhi University, the admission committee of the University will put this issue in front of the committee and ask them to hire forensic experts who can demolish this exercise in which people used to make fake documents to fulfil the eligibility criteria and get admission in top colleges on that basis.
Many colleges have already started this recruitment. These colleges have released tenders to hire forensic experts who can help them in achieving this task and catch the ones involved in this offensive work. This step was earlier executed by Ramjas College in 2013.
The college took the help of forensic experts to identify a fake mark sheet as that was a big scam at that time in 2012. Some colleges like Kalindi, Dyal Singh and Sri Venkateswara hired a company to provide forensic help to them in the academic year 2016-17.

Devices Used by Forensic Experts to Check Documents
The forensic experts hired by the colleges of Delhi University will use devices like UV & IR light, Stereo Microscope and magnifying lens to distinguish between fake and real documents. The Infrared Light (IR) will be used for invisible lighting to show up on documents. The Ultraviolet (UV) light will be used to see fluorescent marking and fluorescent thread.
The magnifying lens will be used to locate micro-lettering and a use of the stereomicroscope will be to examine the quality of the paper used and its thickness and notice that how different it is from the documents owned by other people.
