Delhi University to add more Courses and Seats for UG Admissions 2017

Delhi University to add more courses and seats to its Undergraduate Admissions starting from 22 May 2017. After a month of delay in any statement from DU officials, The Online DU Admission 2017 process is likely to begin from 22 May 2017 fo UG Admission and 31 May for the Postgraduate admission. But the peculiar part 2017 admission is that no schedule for the admission is announced yet, except the initial dates. This year few lof the colleges of Delhi University have increased the number of the courses and the intake for the latest academic session 2017-18.

The admission schedule of Delhi University has declared the start date of admission for the academic session 2017-2018. The registration process will be conducted through online mode only. The dates of online application for various programmes are mentioned below:

Delhi University Added Courses and Seats for UG Admission

There are total 61 colleges under DU and having 54,000 Seats for the admission to the students out of which 22.5% of seats (12,160 Seats) have been reserved for the SC/ST candidates, and 27% of seats (14,580 Seats) are reserved for the OBC category.

• Total Seats for the Admission: 54,000 Seats
• SC/ST (22.5%) : 12,160 Seats
• OBC Seats (27%) : 14,580 Seats
• Supernumerary Seats (ECA/Sports) : 2,700 Seats
• Kashmiri Migrants (5%) : 2,700 Seats
• PwD Seats (3%) : 1,620 Seats

Colleges like Dayal Singh and Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma are expected to increase their number of seats. The addition of seats in these two colleges is mentioned below. Few courses like Bachelors in Computer Science and Management Studies will be added in the college syllabus. Colleges have sent this courses proposal to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and currently waiting for the approval.

 
Above mentioned colleges also comprising five courses in their syllabus and out of which three will include languages like Punjabi, Urdu and Sanskrit. They also introducing honours courses in the field of philosophy and computer science. After getting the approval from UGC, they will begin the admission process. Recently, a well-known college “St Stephens” introduced a course in the field of political science which was approved by UGC. Two new courses namely BA Programme in physical education and BSc Hons in physics are also announced by “Daulat Ram College” and 92 seats offered in total.
