Medical Colleges in Maharashtra and Dental Colleges in Maharashtra is done on the basis of NEET scores. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission in Dental and Medical Colleges in Maharashtra must have a NEET score. After the declaration of the NEET result, the CBSE will forward the merit list of the candidates to the Directorate of Medical Education Research (DMER), Maharashtra.
Earlier, each state conducted its own examination for the admission in medical colleges likewise Maharashtra Government conducted MHT CET. But from the year 2016 onwards, the NEET has become the only exam to be conducted in India.
