IIST Admission Complete Details

IIST Rank List 2018 has been released on 21 June 2018 by Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. Candidates that have been alloted seats in Round 1 of seat allotment can now report at any of the 15 ISRO centres between 2 to 3 July 2018. The list of 15 ISRO centres for reporting is listed below in this page. IIST Rank List is declared separately for the General, SC, ST, OBC and PD Category. IIST offers 4 Year B.Tech.(Aerospace Engineering), 4-Year B.Tech.(Avionics) and 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech.+ M.S./M.Tech). There are in all 140 seats that are distributed amongst the three courses. There is online counselling for IIST admission but the candidates will have to report physically for the document verification at one of the 15 ISRO Centres. This page contains the IIST Rank List 2018 for the different categories. The JEE Advanced Cut off score for the general category is 72, for OBC NCL it is 65 and for all other category students the JEE Advanced Cut off Score for IIST admission is 36 marks.

In 2016, a total of 2900 candidates were called for counselling to 140 seats in IIST Kerala
In 2017, a total of 3703 candidates were called for counselling.
In 2018, a total of 4250 candidates have been shortlisted

The B.Tech Rank list for the year 2018-19 has been released on 21 June 2018. The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology has released the IIST Rank List for the General, OBC, SC, ST and PD categories. The admission counselling will be held in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata. The IIST Rank List released is in the form of the common rank list and as per category wise. Criteria for Tie-Breaking for preparing IIST Rank List

A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics
If this does not break the tie, the higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who secured higher marks in Physics.
If there is a tie even after this, the higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who secured higher rank in JEE Main 2018 examination, in the respective category.

Documents to be submitted at the time of Counselling

Original Pass Certificate and Score Card of Class 10 that shows age and marks.
Original Score Card and Pass Certificate of Class 12
Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will be required to produce the original caste/ tribe certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted.
The benefit of PD reservation would be given only to those who have at least 40% physical impairment. Such candidates are required to produce original certificate issued by the District Medical Board/Competent Authority.
The OBC(NCL) candidates seeking the benefits of the reservation will be required to produce the original caste certificate issued on or after June 1 by a competent authority in the prescribed format. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted.
The OBC(NCL) candidates should produce necessary documents to prove their non-creamy layer status. They must also download "Declaration regarding non-creamy layer status of parents in respect of OBC Candidates" and bring the filled up form duly signed to the venue of counselling.
