VIT Law School Admission 2018 Eligibility criteria

Only the candidates who have secured meritorious score in CLAT/ LSAT or any other widely recognised Law test are eligible for VIT law school admission 2018.

Nationality: The candidate must be a Resident Indian National. He/ She must have studied full time and formal education in the preceding two years in schools located in India.

Age: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1 July 1999.

Academic Qualification:

  • Must have passed Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12), conducted by the State / Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% overall aggregate.
    • Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Jammu & Kashmir, North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.  
  • Must have appeared and qualified for CLAT/ LSAT and any other widely recognized Law test in India.

VIT Law School Application Process has started on 4 April 2018. The candidates can fill the application form by following the link given below. The last date to fill the form is 18 June 2018. Hence, the candidates are suggested to fill the application form on or before the due date.

Eligible candidates who wish to apply for BA. LLB (Hons) in VIT Chennai campus can apply in one of the following ways:

  • Online Application: To apply online candidate has to visit VIT university website and fill the application form. In case of online application, the application fee can be paid through Credit/Debit card or Net Banking.
  • Offline Application/ OMR: The application forms are available. The prospectus and the information brochure for the Law Programmes 2018, along with the necessary enclosures (including the application form and a printed self-addressed envelope), can be obtained against cash payment

Submission of Application Form

The application form of VIT Law School can be submitted through both the online and offline mode. Candidates should check the filled application form before the final submission. They are also required to pay the application fee to complete the application process. Once the application gets submitted, the candidates are suggested to keep at least two printouts of the application form with them for future reference.

VIT Law School Admission 2018 Result and Counselling

Selection for VIT law school Admission 2018 will be based on merit. The candidates merit will be based on:

  • Marks secured by the candidate in higher secondary school examination
  • Performance of the candidate in Group Discussion & Personal Interview*
  • Weightage will be given to the candidates who have good scores in National level Law Entrance Examination
  • The list of qualified candidates in GD/PI round will be displayed on the official website of VIT Law Chennai. 

*The candidates appearing in Group Discussion & Personal Interview needs to produce the documents in original for verification along with one set of photocopies and a DEMAND DRAFT for Rs.12,000/- drawn in favour of “VIT”, payable at Vellore. This fee includes counselling fee.
