About Jesus and Mary College

Jesus and Mary College is for women only and is affiliated to the University of Delhi. Jesus & Mary College is a part of Delhi University and it will participate in the common admission process of Delhi University. To get the admission in Jesus and Mary College, the candidates first have to fill the DU Application Form and also the online form of Jesus and Mary College. Earlier, the Jesus and Mary College released the first, second, third, fourth and fifth cut off. Now the college has also released the sixth cut off on 17 July 2018 so the students who could not get admission based on the earlier cut offs can now approach the college considering the sixth cut off for admission.   • Jesus & Mary College was established in 1968 by Religious of Jesus and Mary Congregation.
  • As the Institute has the status of a minority institute, out of the total seats available 50% seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to the Christian Community.

Jesus and Mary College Eligibility criteria

  • Nationality: The Female candidate making application for admission in Jesus and Mary College should be an Indian Citizen
  • Qualifying Examination: The applicant must have cleared class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or University.
  • Subject combination for Individual courses: The cut-off list will be prepared on the basis of
    • For B.Com & B.Com (Hons.): Mathematics is a compulsory subject for B.Com (Hons.) and 5% marks will be deducted from Best of Four percentage of students from Science and Humanities Stream.
    • Economics: Mathematics is a compulsory subject in Class 12 and student must have secured at least 70% marks. 1% weightage will be given to students who studied Economics in class 12.
    • English:  Minimum 90% in Core English or 92% in Functional English or 88% in Elective English. Preference will be given to candidates who have studies Elective English or are from Humanities and Science Streams.
    • Hindi: English as well as Hindi should be compulsory subjects in class 12 and should have secured at least 60% in Hindi or 55% in Aggregate.
    • History: Students from any stream can apply. 2% weightage will be given to candidates from Humanities stream.
    • Mathematics: Minimum 80% marks in best four subjects which should include Mathematics and English. The candidate should also have scored at least 80% marks in Mathematics.
    • Political Science: Candidates should have English as a mandatory subject in Best of Four Subjects.
    • Psychology: Minimum 80% marks in aggregate. Candidates with Psychology in class 12 will get the benefit of 2%.
    • Sociology: Best of Four subjects should have 3 academic subjects and 1 language. Additional 1% weightage will be given to candidates from Sociology and 1% weightage for other Social Sciences.

Jesus and Mary College Application form and Admit Card

The centralised registration process of Delhi University 2018 has started from 15 May 2018. The candidates can fill the application form and make the payment of the application fee at the University of Delhi Admission portal. Apart from registering on the DU Online admission portal, the candidates have to fill the registration form of Jesus and Mary College also. The registration process of the college has started from 21 May 2018. While registering on the website of Jesus and Mary College, the candidates need to provide their form number and email id. Physically Disabled candidates are facilitated with options to submit their disability certificate offline after taking a printout of the Acknowledgement Slip.

Steps to fill Jesus and Mary College Application Form 2018

  • Making Application: Candidates are required to register on the college website and provide their form number and email id. A validation mail will be sent to the entered email id for verification purpose and for the activation of the account on the college website.
  • Updating the Information: Candidates need not complete the application form in a single sitting. There are 7 sections in the application form, where candidates need to enter their personal as well as academic information.

Submission of the Registration Form

Candidates need to submit the application form after they have entered all their required information in the application form. Information once submitted cannot be altered by any means. Candidates will receive an email confirmation once their application gets successfully submitted. The email regarding the confirmation of the payment of the application form will be sent to the candidates.

  • The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the merit list prepared after taking into consideration the marks obtained by candidates and the additional weightage offered as per the subject combination.
  • Other processes for the selection will remain same as of Delhi University.

Earlier, the first, second, third, fourth and fifth cut off of Jesus and Mary College was released. Now the college has uploaded the sixth cut off list on 17 July 2018. In the Delhi University brochure, the cut off schedule up to five lists are given. However, depending upon the vacant seat, the university will release more cutoffs. With the release of the cut-offs, the candidates need to approach the colleges to seek admission. The candidates need to visit the college for document verification and admission process.
