IMO Syllabus 2018 for the Science Olympiad Foundation International Mathematics Olympiad includes various topics across different sections for each class. The IMO Exam is conducted for the students of Class 1 to 12. For Class 1 to 4, there will be 35 questions and for Class 5 to 12, there will be 50 questions. Up to class 5, the Section-1 contains questions related to Patterns, classifications, analogies etc. while, from Class 6, it contains questions related to Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The students will be given 1 hour to complete the IMO Exam. The students of classes 1 to 12 are eligible to appear for the first level Olympiads and there are no other eligibility criteria like minimum marks etc. However, for IMO second level exam, only the qualified students from class 3 to 12 are eligible to participate. IMO is conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation SOF, which is a Nonprofit organization. The interested students can check the complete IMO Syllabus 2018 on this page.
Latest Update: IMO Olympiad 2018 Level - 1 will be conducted on 4, 13 and 18 December 2018.
IMO Syllabus 2018 - Class 1 to 12
Here we have provided the complete IMO Syllabus 2018 for Class 1 to 4 and Class 5 to 12. There are 4 different sections for each class in IMO Exam i.e. Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Everyday Mathematics, and Achievers Section. All the sections are comprised of different topics. The Syllabus of IMO exam includes different topics from different sections for the different classes.
Section 1 includes topics from logical reasoning, Section 2 includes topics from the Mathematical Reasoning and Section 3 includes topics from Everyday Mathematics. The questions in Section 3 are more of the type of Everyday Mathematics and not related to reasoning. In Section 4 which is Achievers Section, contain Higher Order Thinking Questions and its Syllabus as per Section–1 and 2.

IMO Syllabus 2018 - Preparation Tips
Here are some of the important IMO Preparation Tips for the students:
- Start studying at least two months in advance for the IMO Exam. It will help in creating a timetable that is not crammed with just back to back studying the whole day.
- Go through the IMO syllabus several times while preparing for the exam. Collect all the materials required for the preparation. Take help from friends who are also preparing for the IMO Exam just to ensure that you have not overlooked any key aspects of the SOF IMO syllabus.
- A tutor will play a key role in the IMO preparation and learning process. One can find a good IMO tutor near their house for a good guidance and who will help in covering the whole syllabus of IMO in the easiest way.
- It is very important to identify the strengths and weaknesses. If anyone found certain topics more difficult, then they need to spend more time on those topics.
