About Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM)

VVM 2017 - Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017 is conducted by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) in collaboration with National Council of Education Research and Training for the students who are studying in any of the class between 6 to 11 standards. Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017 which is also known as VVM is a national program which aims to educate and popularize science among school students. Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan also aims to identify and nurture the bright minds among the student community. School and students registration process has been started and the last date to register is 3. The VVM examination will be re-conducted on 3 & 5 December 2017, only for those candidates who could not connect for the exam on 26 November 2017. the candidates have a choice to select from any of these dates.

  • The VVM examination for Uttar Pradesh will be conducted on 3 December 2017 only. There is no other exam date option for Uttar Pradesh candidates. And, there is NO Admit Card, candidate profile itself is the Admit Card.

Details The students who are studying in any of the classes between 6 to 11 from any CBSE, ICSE or State Boards School are eligible to participate in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan - VVM 2017.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) Reward

The candidates participating in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017 will be awarded on the basis of their performance in a different level of the competition as per the details are given below:

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) Application form and Process

The students can participate in the competition only if their school register online. A completely web based application process will be conducted for the registration of the school. The school will now appoint an exam controller who will enter the basic details of the schools such as school name, school address, the name of the principal, name of exam coordinator, GEO Mapping of school, UDIES code of school, mobile number, email ID etc.

Thereafter, Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan will verify the entered data through sending the one-time password (OTP) and an Email verification link on registered mobile and Email ID. UDIES code of the registered school will be used as school identification number.

Students Registration

Now the students who wish to take up the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan exam can be registered only by the appointed coordinator of the school. The candidates have to provide the following basic information about the participating students:

  • Name of student
  • Class
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Aadhar number

The coordinator has to make registration of the candidates only one online or can download editable excel format to upload and the editable excel format can be downloaded from the portal for offline data entry. The student’s basic information will be shown as students profile on Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan’s official website at http://vvm.org.in. In a case of offline registration, the data of the students will be uploaded online. The participation fee of Rs 100 can only be made through online mode of payment. Registration fee can be made through debit card, credit card or net banking. The candidates cannot pay the registration fee through cheque or DD. On successful payment, the students have to click the verification link and have to complete the verification process by entering the one-time password (OTP).

VVM 2017 Admit Card / Hall Ticket (Roll Number)


The students whose registration has been completed successfully will only be able to download their Admit Card (Roll Number). Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Admit Card will be generated on the official website of Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan on 25 November 2017. Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) Selection Process

There are total 4 level of the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017 competition to become a winner. First the each student who has successfully registered online/offline will have to appear in the online test which is going to be held on 26 November. The students can take the examination only in the latest updated app which should be installed in the registered device.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2017 Exam Pattern

The Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan exam will be conducted by following the exam pattern as given below:

  •  Total number of questions: 100
  • Structure of the question: Multiple choice questions
  • Marks on per question: 2 marks
  • Duration of the exam: 2 hours (120 Minutes)
  • Language of the exam: The test will be conducted in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Bengali and Punjabi

Evaluation Scheme for State Level Camp

Based on marks obtained in the examination held on 26 November, top 20 rankers per class per state have qualified to participate in one day State Level Camp (SLC). The place of State Level Camp (SLC) will be communicated to the students by their state coordinator. 

The students will have the following components in the State Level Camp (SLC), the duration, weightage and Marks of each component are also given;

Experimental Skill Test (EST) in Physics, Chemistry and in Biology (or Maths activities) 60 Minutes 40 % 80 Marks

Application Oriented Scholastic Aptitude Test (AOSAT)

All the students will be given a question paper of 90-minute duration which will be including questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and logic and reasoning. For 11th class students who have not taken biology, there will be questions from the mathematics. All the questions will be based on NCERT curriculum at the respective class. The students will be divided into two groups viz. Junior Group (Class 6 - 8) and Senior Group (Class 9 - 11). Separate papers will be provided for Junior and Senior groups.

  • Maximum marks of SLC will be 200. The distribution of these marks would be: 80 marks will be given to AOSAT, 80 marks to EST and 40 marks to the ASF
  • The result of state-level camp and the list of selected students for national level camp will be declared on the same day before 5:00 PM.

Experimental Skill Test (EST) in Physics, Chemistry and in Biology

Students will have to perform hands-on activity based on contents of NCERT curriculum at the respective class. Students will be given 20 min each to perform activities in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (optional math for 11th class).

Analyzing the Scientific Film (ASF)

A scientific film of duration about 10 minutes will be shown and some questions will be asked to the students based on the film.

National Level Camp

On the basis of performances in all the activities conducted in state-level camp, total 12 students (2 from each class) will be qualified for a two-day National Camp. National Level Camp will consist Presentations, Innovation and Creativity, Scientific Understanding, Assessment of Leadership Quality and Out of Box Activities.

The winner will be declared based on performances of the selected students in National Level Camp.
