About IIM Bangalore

IIM Bangalore MBA Admission 2017 are done on the basis of CAT (Common Eligibility Test) which was conducted on December 4, 2016. All the Post Graduate Management courses offered in IIM Bangalore are equivalent to MBA Degree. IIM Bangalore MBA Admissions are invited for the academic year of 2017-19. IIM Bangalore was established in the year 1973 to provide quality education in the Management education.

IIM Bangalore is one of the premier Business School in India. It is the third Indian Institute of Management after IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Kolkata.  IIM Bangalore offers a range of Post-Graduate, Executive education programme and doctoral programmes.

Latest Update: The CAT result has declared and now the IIM Bangalore is calling the candidates for an interview. The call for interview window is given on this page below. The candidates need to provide the application number and an email address used for CAT 2016 Registration to log in for IIM Bangalore PGP interview call. The candidates shortlisted for the interview will have to appear at the time of the personal interview.

IIM Bangalore Courses Offered

IIM Bangalore accepts CAT scores for admission to the PGP, PGPPM and PGPEM. The candidates aiming for admission to the following IIM Bangalore courses need not apply separately.

  • PGP: Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) is a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Programme. Both the Domestic as well as International students are eligible to apply. 
  • PGPPM: Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy and Management. It is a one-year post-graduate diploma programme.
  • PGPEM: Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management. It a 22-month weekend residential programme mainly for the working professionals and it is equivalent to Executive Postgraduate programme.

Other Courses: IIM Bangalore also offers Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM). There is a separate application process and mode of selection for these courses. For instance, admission to EPGP is done on GMAT Scores.

IIM Bangalore PGP Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for Domestic Candidates : 
The domestic candidates are generally Indian Nationals or foreigners normally a resident of India who appeared Common Admission Test (CAT).

  • The candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree. The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. The candidates belonging to Scheduled caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Person with Disability (PwD)/ Differently Abled (DA) category must have secured not less than 45% marks.

Eligibility Criteria for International candidates: The International candidates may be foreign Nationals or Indian Nationals residing outside India.

  • The candidate must have a valid GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test) score including the AWA score.
  • The candidates must also have Statement of Purpose and 3 Reference Letters for complete Admission Process.

IIM Bangalore PGPPM Eligibility Criteria

  • Government/PSU Sponsored Participants: This category includes officers from All India Services, Central Services and State Civil Services, PSUs and in their mid-career.
  • Non-Govt/Open Participants: Candidates from NGOs, International agencies, infrastructural, CSR, Consulting and other service sectors.

IIM Bangalore PGPEM Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 50% marks in any Discipline as per 10+2+3 norms.
  • The candidates must have a minimum of three years of work experience after the Degree in any industry.

IIM Bangalore Application form and Admit Card

IIM Bangalore has no separate Registration Process for the courses in which admission is done on the basis of CAT. The candidate needs to apply for CAT Registration Process and need to score the required percentile in CAT exam. The shortlisted candidates need to attend the separate Personal Interview and Group Discussion to get admission to IIM Bangalore.

IIM Bangalore PGP Registration for International Candidates

The International candidates appearing into PGP programme into IIM Bangalore need to apply separately. The Registration Process for the International Candidates will tentatively begin in the month of December 2016 and end in the month of February 2017.

The candidates need to appear in Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) on or before February 2017 and the GMAT Score should be valid as on June 2017.

The candidates who have already checked their CAT Result now need to submit their application number and email id in order to log in for interview call. The IIM Bangalore has started inviting the application for the interview call. The candidates can see the window given below for more information

IIM Bangalore PGP Selection Process

Selection Process for Domestic Candidates:  The domestic candidates are generally Indian Nationals or foreigners normally the resident of India who appeared Common Admission Test (CAT).

  • The admissions of the domestic candidates into PGP course are selected on the basis of CAT/GMAT scores. 
  • The shortlisted candidates after the CAT written Test will appear in a Personal Interview. In the PI the candidates need to provide 3 reference letters from persons who know them closely in terms of their academic/professional performance. 

Selection Process for International Candidates: The International candidates mostly reside outside India and are unable to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs at various centres at India, so they need to appear in Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

  • The international candidates get admission through direct applications. 
  • The admission of the International programmes is based on many parameters.  They need to report to IIM Bangalore with their valid GMAT scores. IIM Bangalore GAMT code is Q9H-KK-49.
  • The Final Selection is based on performance in GMAT, scholastic achievement, work experience and 3 letters of reference. 

IIM Bangalore PGPPM Selection Process

The Admission to PGPPM course in both the categories that is Government/PSU Sponsored Participants and Non-Government/Open Participants will be made on the basis of their educational background and qualification.

  • CAT/GMAT Score and Personal Interview is most important parameters of taking admission to PGPPM in IIM Bangalore. 
  • Personal Interview is generally conducted in Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Mumbai.

IIM Bangalore PGPEM Selection Process

Final selection for PGPEM admission will be based on the past academic performance, past work experience, diversity profile and performance in written analytical test and personal interview

  • The candidates with more than 3 year of experience must have be judged on CAT/GMAT/GRE score. The candidates with more than 7 years of work experience will be judged on CAT/GMAT/GRE/IIMB Entrance Test.
  • It will be followed by Written Analytical Test and Personal Interview. Shortlisting for the interview will be mainly based on the past academic performance of the candidates, past work experience and performance in any of the admission tests and the variety in the profile will be given preference.

IIM Bangalore Scholarship

The following scholarships are given to the meritious students of IIM Bangalore:

Aditya Birla Scholarship: This is a merit-based scholarship given to the PGP students of both first year and second years. The student of the first year who receives this scholarship can apply for the renewal if they belong to top 25% of the batch in the first year. The amount of the scholarship is Rs 1.75 Lakh per student.

OPJEMS Scholarship: This is a merit base scholarship given by OP Jindal Group to the student of each academic year. The amount of Scholarship is Rs. 1.50 Lakh.

Citi Women's Leader Award: This is also a merit-based scholarship given to the selected candidates from the top 25% of the batch at the end of the first year. Nomination is done by the Institute and the students are selected on the basis of their statement of Purpose and subsequent interviews scheduled by Citi. A total amount of Rs. 4 Lakh is given per student.

Societe Generale Global Centre India Scholarship: This is a need-based scholarship that is given to the most needy student of the first year. This scholarship includes the total tuition expenses. The institute nominates the students on the basis of their need and subsequent interviews are conducted by Societe Generale.

Siddhartha Padam Award: This is a merit-based scholarship for only 1 student of PGP who gets the best marks in the Finance Area. The amount of the scholarship is Rs. 50,000, a medallion and a certificate.

Bennet Scholarship: Two Scholarship are provided under Bennett  Scholarship for the class entering PGP. Each Scholarship provides Rs. 3 Lakh, payable at two equal installments. 

IIMB PGP Alumni First Batch Scholarship: This scholarship is for differently abled female student of PGP. If there are no female students then it is given to male students of PGP. The amount of the scholarship is Rs. 50,000, a medallion and a certificate.

Sir Ratan Tata Trust Scholarship: This is a merit based scholarship. Every year five nominations are invited for the students of the second year and who are in the top 10% of the batch at the end of the first year studies. The amount of the scholarship is Rs 1 Lakh.

Hindustan Unilever/T Thomas Scholarship: This is a merit-based scholarship given by Hindustan Unilever to one student of PGP second year. The company selects the student among the grade list of the top 25% of the batch at the end of their first year. The amount of the scholarship is Rs 1 Lakh.
