About NIH BHMS Admission

NIH BHMS admission 2016 will be conducted for BHMS course by National Institute of Homeopathy. NIH will conduct all India common entrance test for BHMS admission 2016. The test will be conducted across 7 different centers in India for 93 seats in National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata. BHMS Course is a 5 1/2 years course which includes one year of compulsory Internship.

Result for BHMS course would be declared on June 20, 2016, the last date of application is May 16, 2016. The candidates will also have to sign a bond of Rs. 50,000 which has to be paid if the candidate withdraws admission in between the course.

NIH BHMS Admission Eligibility criteria

  • The candidate should be an Indian Citizen either by birth or by domicile and the foreign candidates nominated by the government of India can also apply.
  • The applicant shouldn’t be blind, deaf or dumb; however, orthopedically challenged a person with 50% to 70% locomotors disability in the lower limb can also apply.
  • The candidates who are born on or before December 31, 1991, or after January 1, 2000, are rendered ineligible to apply for this exam. At the time of the application, the candidate must not be below 17 years of age or above 25 years.
  • The applicant must have passed the qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology with English proficiency at the basic level.
  • Those candidates who are appearing in Class 12 or equivalent exam in 2016 are also eligible to apply for the all India level admission test.
  • The candidates appearing in the All India Entrance Test must have passed with 50% marks in all five subjects which are mentioned above; however, for reserved category a 5% relaxation is given and they need to secure 45% marks in order to appear for the exam.

NIH BHMS Admission Application form and Admit Card

NIH BHMS application has to be made in three A4 size plain paper proforma application form, the first two paper of the form will contain the application information whereas the last page will be the identity or admit card.

  • The candidates have to provide 4 recent color photograph in the size of (4.5cm*3.5cm) which should be taken on or after February 28, 2016,
  • Two copies of the photograph self-attested have to be pasted on  the application form; whereas the other two copies of the photograph must be signed at the back and stapled along with the application form.
  • Candidates are not required to send any photocopies of the documents like mark sheet and other documents; however, for candidates categorized under SC/ST/OBC, if they are claiming exemption then they must attach  a photocopy of the document along with the form.
  • Orthopedically challenged candidates have to attach a photocopy of the certificate obtained from the chairperson of the medical board.
  • Exam Centers: The All India admission test will be held in seven centers in India: Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, and Bhopal.The candidates must choose at least two centers and those centers will not change after the submission of the application.

Payment of Application Fee

The Application Fee can be paid via Bank draft of Rs. 1000 in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, payable at Kolkata. The SC / ST candidates do not have to pay any fee but they need to send their category certificates to claim the exemption of fee.

NIH BHMS Admit card 2016

NIH BHMS admit card will be sent by post, the candidates can also download the admit card from the official website of National Institute of Homeopathy.The candidates must carry the admit card, no candidate will be allowed without that. The admit card must be preserved for counseling.

The candidate has to pay the fee via crossed demand draft drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, payable at Kolkata on the day of admission.

The signing of Bond: Each candidate at the time of admission has to execute one duly noterized bond of Rs. 50,000  as compensatory bond amount which she/ he has to pay to NIH in the event of course discontinuation at any time before the completion of the course

NIH BHMS Admission Result and Counselling

  • NIH BHMS merit list will be displayed on the official website of National Institute of Homeopathy and notice board at the college.The meritorious candidates will be informed through the post as well and will be given the counselling schedule. 
  • Request for reevaluation and rechecking of the answer sheet will not be entertained under any circumstances.
  • Incase of a tie between two candidates, the merit list will be prepared in the following manner.
    • Candidate obtaining higher marks in Biology portion in the Admission Test
    • Candidate obtaining higher marks in Chemistry portion in the Admission Test
    • Candidate obtaining higher marks in Physics portion in the Admission Test
    • Candidate older in age.

NIH BHMS Counselling 2016


The counselling will be notified after the declaration of the result on the official website of National Institute of Homeopathy. The candidates have to carry the following certificates.

  • Nationality Certificates or Photocopy of the valid passport/Domicile certificate/Birth certificate self-attested.
  • Class 10 standard admit card, mark sheet, Pass certificate.
  • Class 12 standard admit card, mark sheet, Pass certificate.
  • Conduct/character certificate from the head of Institute last attended.
  • Transfer certificate from Institute last attended. (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate. (if applicable)
  • Caste validity certificate (if applicable)
  • Migration certificate issued by the respective University/Board.
  • Medical fitness certificate/Orthopedically challenged certificate.
  • Six Passport size photographs duly signed by the candidate him/herself.
  • Signed Bond for fee non-refund.
  • Anti-Ragging Affidavit online
  • Self-Educational Gap Affidavit
  • Any other relevant document.
