About NITTE University

NITTE University MBBS and BDS Admission will be based on the NEET score as per the order of the Honorable Supreme Court of India. Admission to K.S Hegde Medical Academy Mangalore and A.B Shetty memorial Institute of Dental Sciences is done on the basis of NEET scores. MBBS course is offered at K.S Hegde medical academy Mangalore. BDS course is offered at A.B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. Till last year NITTE University conducted its own entrance exam that is NUUGET for Admission for MBBS and BDS course which is no longer exist now. Hegde Medical Academy, Mangalore 

 

Hedge Medical Academy became a constituent Nitte University in 2009, earlier it was affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The academy offers 4½ year (+1 year medical internship) MBBS course. Admissions in Hegde Medical Academy are done on the basis on NEET 2017 conducted by CBSE. 

A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore

 

A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Science is located in Mumbai. It is a sister institute of Hedge Medical Academy and is affiliated with Nitte University.  A B Shetty Dental Science institute offers a 4 year (including 1 year of compulsory internship) BDS program.

NITTE University Eligibility criteria

Nationality - Candidate appearing for NITTE University 2017 must be a citizen of India.

Academic Qualification: Candidates who have passed the second year pre-university or Class 12 or equivalent exam not prior to 2016  with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subject and English as one of the languages of study are eligible to apply.

  • Candidates whose Class 12 results are not yet announced are also eligible to apply.
  • They have to submit attested copies of mark sheets before June 21, 2017, so that they can be considered for the counseling.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have secured 50% aggregate in physics, chemistry, and biology with English as a language subject.

  • For SC/ST candidates it is 40%.

Age: Candidates must be 17 or more years of age as on December 31, 2017.

NITTE University Application form and Admit Card

As per the notification of UGC, the NEET scores is mandatory for admission to MBBS/BDS course in any government and private medical colleges in India. Therefore, to apply for the admission into MBBS/BDS course, the candidates need to submit their NEET score. The candidates who have not appeared in NEET exam can appear by filling the application form

The candidates who have already applied before need not apply again and they need to upload the NEET Score and the fresh Applicant who wants to take admission in NITTE University can apply by making Online Payment of Rs. 1000.

Documents to be kept ready for the NITTE University 2017 Application form

  • NEET Rank Card
  • Scanned Passport Photograph of the Photograph clicked in past 3 months. It should be a .jpg file and no other file format will be accepted.
  • PAN Card Numbers of Father & / or Mother
  • Unique ID proof of the Candidate (Voter ID /Passport / PAN Card /Ration Card/ Driving License / Aadhar Card/Acknowledgement of Aadhar to be produced throughout the process. There is no need of the scanned copy, only the number is required.
  • Registration or Roll No. or Index no. of SSLC (Class 10)
  • Registration Number of PUC/ 10+2/ 12th standard / or an equivalent examination
  • Marks of II PUC in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English if available 

Submission of NITTE 2017 Application Form

  • After making all the necessary details in the application form, candidates can make their payment online by clicking on 'Pay Now' button. Candidates can make their payment through Credit card, Debit Card and Net Banking. In case the payment is not successful, the application of the candidates gets canceled automatically.

Application Form can be rejected if 

  • The applications submitted by the candidates are incomplete.
  • It is not Online. The application is received by the university after the last date.
  • The candidate does not sign the application form. Photographs of the candidates are not of recent dates.(should be taken within past 3 months)
  • If the candidate has already passed 12th and has not attached attested copies of mark sheets.
  • The candidate does not submit registration fees.

MBBS and BDD Fee Structure for NRI Candidates 

  • MBBS -  USD 43100 per annum for 4.5 years. A sum USD 300 is extra in the first year only
  • BDS -  USD 15000  per annum for 4 years. A sum USD 300 is extra in the first year only.

NITTE University Result and Counselling

NITTE University MBBS and BDS Selection Process

Candidates of MBBS and BDS will be selected on the basis inter-se Merit of the NEET ALL INDIA OVERALL RANK. After the application Process for Counselling is over, NITTE University will declare a Merit List of the Selected candidates. Then the University will conduct Counselling Process in two rounds. The dates are given in the table below:

NITTE University Exam pattern

Admissions in NITTE University and its constituent institutes is now done on the basis of NEET, therefore the following exam pattern is no more valid.

Syllabus for NUUGET is same as prescribed for class 11 & 12 CBSE. The student should be thoroughly prepared with Physics, Chemistry & Biology of Class 11 & 12 to qualify in NUUGET .

  • The test will be conducted in The English language.
  • There will be a question paper of 3 hours duration consisting of 180 multiple choice question.

  • Questions will be multiple choice type having one answer correct.
  • NUUGET will be a computer based test.
  • Each question carries 1 marks. There is no negative marking.
  • The final rank list is generated based on the scores in the entrance exam. Ties in the test score, if any will be resolved on the basis of Inter Se merit in the following given order:
    • Chemistry and biology mark in entrance exam
    • Biology marks in entrance exam
