  • COMEDK 2016  is for admission to various undergraduate engineering, MBBS, BDS courses in member participating institutions for the academic session 2016-17. It is for admission into the private quota seats of the participating colleges.
  • 14 Medical, 25 Dental and more than 150 engineering colleges in Karnataka who make available almost 20,000 seats takes admission through COMEDK UGET 2016.
  • Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka Under Graduate Entrance Test (COMEDK UGET) is conducted by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK).
  • COMEDK 2015 Registration Process began on March 2, 2015.
  • COMEDK 2016 is an eligibility test for admission to B.E., M.B.B.S, Dentistry.
    A candidate can apply for both B.E. &  M.B.B.S through COMEDK 2016.
  • The COMEDK Chief Executive in a notice has announced that the test will be conducted keeping in mind the ‘triple test criteria’ of being fair, transparent and non-exploitative so as to ensure merit based admissions through a single common entrance test followed by centralized counselling.

    • Duration of MBBS: 41/2 year course + one year internship
    • Duration of BDS: 4 years course + one year internship.

Who can apply – The eligibility criteria

COMEDK 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Domicile: COMEDK 2016 is open to all the eligible students in the country and not only for the students of Karnataka. Students from all recognised boards can apply for the entrance exam.

Age Limit: The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the MBBS/BDS course

 Academic Qualification

  • The candidate must have passed second PUC or Class 12 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government.
  • In the last two year of study, the candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English as a compulsory subject.
  • The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State).
  • The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and if their results are awaiting are also eligible to apply.

COMEDK 2016 Application Process

COMEDK UGET Application Process will begun in the month of May 2016

  • Candidates can apply online Only at the official website for COMEDK.Link will be updated once available
    • There is no Pen and Paper Form.

COMEDK 2016 Application Form is not similar to other Entrance Examination Application Form in many ways. All the desirous candidates have to follow the two steps:

  • Firstly they have to register themselves.
  • Secondly, After Registration only they will be allowed to fill the Online Application Form

 Application Process for MBBS/BDS

  • The Application Process has been divided into two stages:
    • Stage 1: RFA: The Candidates have to register themselves by sending a request for anApplication form called ‘Request for Application (RFA).
    • Stage 2: OAF: After Stage 1 is successfully completed, the candidates get an opportunity to not only fill up Online Application Form (OAF) but also, can check the status of Application at various stages.
  • Candidates have to take the the printout of the filled in application form on A4 Size sheet of paper.
  • Further they have to get the Principal seal and signature from the college where they have last studied on the space provided in the printed application form.

Submission of COMEDK 2016 Application Form

  • After cross checking with the criteria for rejection of COMEDK 2015 Application Form provided separately, candidates have to send the Application Form in Physical Format (PAF) along with the Demand Draft through Speed Post in A4 size envelope only on the below given address on or before the last date specified

Demand Draft: The Demand Draft should be drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favor of COMEDK . 

The DD should be payable at Bangalore for Rs. 1200 for three subjects (PCB/PCM) i.e. for MBBS/BDS or BE and Rs. 1500 for all the four subjects (PCMB) i.e. (MBBS/BDS and BE).

COMEDK 2016 Application Status?

  • Candidates at various stages using Applicant Login can check COMEDK 2016 Application status .
  • Candidates have to login using the same USER ID and PASSWORD as received in their E-mail ID after the successful submission of RFA.

Selection process

COMEDK 2016 Selection Process

COMEDK 2016 Selection Process involves many stages:

  • Stage 1: Provisional Answer Keys of COMEDK 2016 will be published on the website only late in the evening, in May 2016 On the day of Exam itself. 
    • Clarifications to the provisional answer keysMay 2016
    • Final Answer Keys will be published on May 2016
  • Stage 2: Test Score Publication
    • Test scores of COMEDK 2016 will be published on May 2016
  • Stage 3: Final Merit / Rank List Publication

    • The final merit / rank list is generated based on the scores in the entrance test and the same will be published on June 2016
    • Online Rank Card will be available under “Applicant Login” in the COMEDK website from June 2016

Score in COMEDK 2016:  

  • Candidate must have scored not less than 50% marks in aggregate in PCB in the Common Entrance Test of COMEDK 2016
  • 40 % in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State
  • Candidate should secure not less than 50% marks individually in English.(40% in case of SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka State).

Stage 4: Centralised Counselling for COMEDK 2016

  • The publication of test score and rank list will be followed by centralized counseling (Single window system) in so far as Member Institutions are concerned. There will be two rounds of counseling

  • The First Round of Counseling will be scheduled from June 2016.

  • The Second and the Last Round of Counseling will commence from July 2016.

  • Candidate has to answer questions on the OMR sheet with only a black or a blue pen.
  • Physics and Chemistry as one paper for two hours duration besides Biology and English as another paper for two hours duration.
  • Each correct answer is awarded one mark.
  • No Mark/s will be awarded for multiple marking.
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking
