HSEE (Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination) is for the admission to the five-year integrated Master of Arts (M.A.) programme at IIT Madras for admission in Integrated MA.The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is an institute of national importance which offers quality education in Humanities, Sciences, Engineering, Management and Technology at UG / PG level.
HSEE 2017 is for admission into the two following courses, The first two years of the curriculum are common to all students, after which they branch out into one of the two streams
HSEE 2017 Exam Date - It will be conducted on April 16, 2017, between 10:00 and 13:00 hours in selected cities throughout India.
HSEE Application Process will start on December 17, 2016, and will end on January 27, 2017.

Candidates applying for HSEE 2017 should have either completed or should be appearing in 2017in any one of the following qualifying examinations (QE):

Physical Fitness: Every qualified candidate will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed format that will be made available along with the letter of offer of admission
Minimum Qualifying Marks
|General & OBC Category||Minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in QE|
|SC, ST & PD||Minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in QE|
If any Board awards only letter grades without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of joining.

Supporting Documents:Candidates have to upload Scanned images of Class 10 and Class 12 Certificate (if available) / Date of Birth Certificate / OBC (NCL) / SC / ST / PwD category certificate (if applicable) should be in jpg/jpeg format only.
STEP 3: Payment of Fees
Candidates have to submit the application form ONLINE only, along with the scanned photograph, signature, copies of relevant certificates and payment details of examination fee either through offline mode or through online modes on or before January 27, 2017.
Candidates belonging to OBC (NCL) / SC / ST / PWD are required to submit additionally, a hard copy of the self-attested certificate of respective category / medical certificate as applicable, in the prescribed format so as to reach the address given below, before January 27, 2017.

The candidates can check the status of their application at the HSEE website from February 17, 2017, onwards. Candidates would not be sent any acknowledgement of the application form.
The Entrance Exam will be conducted in following cities
A candidate has to give 2 choices for exam centre. Request from a candidate for a change of city/town allotted to him/her will NOT be entertained under any circumstances.
HSEE Admit Card: It will be generated online and can be downloaded from
March 14, 2017 (10 AM) onwards until April 15, 2017 (5 PM) from the HSEE 2017 website. It is a compulsory document to be carried on the day of the exam.

Additionally, the service charges of the Bank will be Rs.30.The examination fee is non-refundable.

Candidates admitted through HSEE 2017 will have to pay the following fees at the time of admission. All fees are subject to vary time to time.
The course fee including the hostel and mess charges for 5 years would be approximately 3 lakh rupees.
