  • Academic qualification: The candidates making application for the internship program needs to be:
    • First year of a Master’s program.
    • Final year of a Bachelor’s program.
    • Completed Bachelor’s degree and commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
  • Experience: Applicants are not required to have work experience.
  • Language: The candidate needs to be fluent in English and knowledge of second official UN language is desirable.
  • Knowledge of computer: The applicants need to be computer literate and should be capable of using standard software applications.

UN Environment Affairs Intern Programme Responsibilities

Location of Internship: The UNEP RONA - Regional Office of North America.

Duration of Internship: 6 months starting from September 01, 2015.

Reporting Authority: UNEP RONA Programme Officer

The Intern will have the following responsibilities to take care of:

  • Assisting with the organization of events
  • Assisting with outreach to governments, non-governmental organizations and academic institutions engaged in environmental issues
  • Attending and reporting back in writing on meetings or conferences
  • Conducting research and drafting short reports and summary memos
  • Assisting staff in the development of presentations
  • Writing memos and taking minutes
  • Other tasks as needed.
