The Hindu Young World India Spell Bee 

• The Hindu Youngworld is organizing India Spell Bee, biggest ever spelling competition for school children of Tamil Nadu.
• Eligibility: The India Spell Bee is open for school students from class 1 to 10 and the contest will be organized in the following categories divided on the basis of participating classes:
  • Tiny Tots: Class  1 & 2
  • Sub Juniors: Class 3 & 4
  • Juniors: Class 5, 6 & 7
  • Seniors: Class 8, 9 &10.
• The registrations for India Spell Bee are to be done through schools and the preliminary round will also be organized in the respective schools.
• Registration Fee: The interested candidates are required to make payment of Rs. 500 which is the registration fee for the India Spelling Bee.
• Competition Format: The competition will be organized in 4 different stages, detail of Stage 1 & 2 are mentioned below and the details of Stage 3 and 4, will be made available to the candidates who qualify for them:
  • Stage One: Written -At School level
  • Stage Two: Written- At District level
  • Stage Three: Written and Oral- At Zonal level - Event              
  • Stage Four: Reality Show- Shot in a set In Chennai in the Studio - Various rounds
• Prizes: The candidates will be awarded with Trophies, Certificates and prizes worth Rs. 10 Lakh.
• Registration: The registration process is offline and through schools only and the last date to complete the registration process is November 14, 2015.

• The winners of the India Spell Bee will be entitled to Trophies, Certificates and prizes worth Rs. 10 Lakh.

The Hindu Youngworld India Spell Bee Application Process

The candidates will become a part of the scholarship as per their class. The details of the application process are as follow:

• Registration Form: The candidates willing to participate in the Spelling bee are required to contact their respective schools as registration forms will be accepted only through Schools. Individual applications will not be accepted.
  • The photocopies of the Registration form can also be used.
  • Individual applications will not be accepted and there is no online application process.
• Registration Fee: The candidates willing to make application for the India Spelling bee are required to pay the registration fee of Rs 500. The payment can be made either online or offline. The details of both the payment methods are as follow:
  • Online Payment: The following steps are to be followed in order to complete the online payment procedure:
    • Login to www.onlinesbi.com.
    • Select State Bank Collect available on the top (pre-login page).
    • Accept the terms and conditions and click “PROCEED”.
    • Select state “TAMILNADU" and institution type "OTHERS”.
    • Select 'MAGIC MEDIA WORKS "under OTHERS.
    • In the next page, Select ONLINE PAYMENTS category, fill details correctly & click “SUBMIT".
  • Offline Payment: The payment can be made in cash at the nearest SBI branch in the following account:

• Submission of the Registration Form: The school authorities are required to submit an individual registration form for each participant along with the payment details to the below-mentioned address:

• Schools should send an email to ‘Spellbeetn@gmail.com’ along with the details of the participating students in the below-mentioned format to make the complete process.

The Hindu Youngworld India Spell Bee Selection Process

The selection of the candidate will be done as per the following stages

• Level One: Written -At School level
  • The initial rounds will be organized by the school itself.
  • The question papers will be e-mailed by India Spell Bee to the registered email id of the school.
  • The answer sheets will be provided to the candidates by India Spell Bee and photocopies of the answer sheets will not be accepted.
  • The preliminary round will be 40 questions to be answered in 40 minutes.
  • The school will have to correct the answer sheets and send the details of the candidates shortlisted for the second round by sending an email to the given email id.
  • Top 20% students from every school will advance to Stage 2-District Level competition.
• Level Two: Written- At District level
  • The second round will be conducted at 12 major cities in Tamil Nadu. The decision of the centers will be finalized after seeing the strength of area.
  • The second level examination will be conducted at respective centers under the supervision of Representatives of India Spell Bee.
  • The students should report in school uniform with their school ID card and with Pen/Pencil/writing pad for the second and subsequent rounds.
  • For the second round, candidate must carry with them the certificate (filled and signed by school Principal) given to them by India Spell Bee after preliminary round.
• Level Three: Written and Oral- At Zonal level - Event
• Level Four: Reality Show- Shot in a set In Chennai in the Studio - Various rounds
• Note: The details of Level 3 and 4 will be made available to the candidates who will qualify for the next rounds.
