  • Teams work to make the best strategic and tactical choices for the value chain to save the virtual company, The Fresh Connection, from financial ruin.
• Every year, The Fresh Connection APICS Global Student Challenge will pit teams from universities in your region and across the globe against each other.
• It is an ideal opportunity to learn by experience and match your supply chain management skills against the best in the world.

• The theme for the 2014 challenge is: strategy into action, optimization of the logistic footprint

• The Team will win a free trip to participate in global final in New Orleans to be held on October 17 and 18, 2014

The challenge posed before students is to prevent their company, the Fresh Connection from losses by attaining and acting in the following positions in teams of four-

1. Vice President Purchasing
2. Vice President Operations
3. Vice President Sales
4. Vice President Supply Chain

Three rounds will be conducted for the selection of the winner-

1. Qualification Stage: January 1- April 18, 2014
    Participate in 3 rounds remotely. Teams with a positive ROI in any round automatically progress to The Fresh Connection APICS Global Student Challenge.
2. Second Chance Pool: April 21- April 25, 2014
   Teams that do not achieve a positive ROI in the Qualification Stage then join the Second Chance Pool to experience an additional 3 rounds remotely.
3. Global Challenge: April 28- June 6, 2014
   Qualified teams then experience 3 The Fresh Connection APICS Global Student Challenge rounds simultaneously with students from around the World!
4. Global Final: September 19, 2014
   The best performing teams from The Fresh Connection APICS Global Student Challenge then progress to The APICS TFC Global Student Final in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, preceding the APICS 2014 conference.
