TCS IT Wiz Quiz 2016

• TCS IT Wiz, India's biggest IT Quiz for schools was started, in 1999 for students studying between class 8-12. 
• The programme aims to build awareness and hone IT skills so that students look at technology through a whole new perspective.
• TCS IT Wiz has been hosted by noted quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, popularly known as Pickbrain. He heads Greycaps India Pvt Ltd; Asia's largest quiz company, headquartered in Bangalore. 
• Today TCS IT Wiz has become a national benchmark in the inter-school quizzing circuit for the level of research, the intensity with which teams compete and the sheer participation number it draws. 
• The TCS IT Wiz 2016 will be held in 15 cities across India - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Vizag.
• The TCS IT Wiz 2016 National Finals will be held on December 12, 2016, at Taj Lands End, band Stand, Bandra West Mumbai

TCS WizQuiz Format

• Prelim :  Each of the teams will be given 20 question at this round question may be asked orally or a visual type question.
• Final : Top 6 teams shortlisted from the prelims will be allowed to enter the final round. If multiple teams of the same school are shortlisted from the same school, only the best team from that school will be called on stage.
• Rounds : There will be a unique, new format based on the digital world of internet. Details of each round will be explained by the quizmaster at the event. 

As such the reward is not specified anywhere. But the members of the winning team will receive a Gold Plated Medal and both of them combined will get a Trophy.

Guidelines for Registration

• Candidates can participate via their schools only. There should be two members of a Team.
• Both the team members must be from the same school/institution.
• Multiple teams per school (2 members per team) will be allowed to participate.
• There is No Entry Fees or Registration Fees.

• Stage 1: Prelim: This would be a common set of 20 questions for all the teams at the venue. Questions would be in the form of oral, visual and audiovisual.
• Stage 2: Finals: The top six teams from the written prelim would qualify for each regional final. 
• Stage 3: Rounds: There will be a unique new format based on the world of internet. Details of each round will be explained by the quizmaster at the event. 

TCS Wiz IT Quiz - Ground Rules

• On the day of the event, participants should be present at the venue at the specified time in their school uniform and carry their official identification from the school.
• Participants will answer the preliminary written round on the pre-printed answer sheets supplied by TCS.
