Samsung Star Scholarship 2019

Samsung Star Scholarship 2019 is a scholarship programme offered by Samsung Electronics Private Limited for Indian Students as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives. The Samsung scholarship is initiating the scholarship across Indian Institute of Technology and National Institute of Technology for the benefits of the students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to provide them with the higher opportunities for good quality higher education. Under Samsung Star Scholarship, students selected will get their Tuition fee, Hostel Fee and Mess charges waived off as a reward for the Scholarship Scheme.

The duration of the scholarship will be for 1 academic year which can be extended to three to four years; Applicants can get detailed information on Eligibility, Application Form, Rewards.

Samsung Star Scholarship Eligible Institutes

Indian Institute of Technology: The Samsung Star scholarship programme is offered at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at the following locations. The candidates are suggested to look at the table below.

National Institute of Technology: The Samsung Star scholarship programme is offered to the students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) at the following Institute. The list of the National Institute of Technology is given along with the location. Candidates are advised to see the table below.

Top Engineering Colleges in India

• The scholarship will be granted to the students to support their tuition fee, hostel fee and mess charges only.
• The candidates granted should not be availing of any financial assistance or scholarship related to these expenses from either a Government or Non-Government source, during the pursuance of their B. Tech/Dual Degree (B.Tech+ M.Tech) course from the Institute
• The duration of the scholarship will be for one academic year, which can be extended to successive three years for B. Tech. Degree course and four years for Dual Degree (B.Tech.+M.Tech.) course which will be based on the rules applicable.

Reward: The mess charges shall be limited to Rs 36,000 annually and the entire amount of annual scholarship shall not exceed Rs 2,00,000

Samsung Scholarship Application Guidelines

• The candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria as if the candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria then the application form of that candidate will not be considered
• The candidates need to know that the application form would be filled completely with Black or Blue ink and all the sections are required to be filled.
• The candidates have to submit only one application with the enclosure of all the relevant documents. The incomplete application would not be considered.

Samsung Star Scholarship Application: Documents needed

1. Completed Application Form, with a self-attested photograph. The Application Form has to be
   certified and signed by Dean Academics.
2. Self-certified copy of class 10 and 12 CBSE Mark Statement
3. Self-certified clear copy of JEE (Advanced) ranking certificate
4. Self-certified clear copy of Final admission letter from the Institute.
5. Original copy of admission/first semester/annual fee receipt deposited at Institute attested and verified by the Institute’s Dean Academic
6. A signed cancelled cheque of the bank account in which the Scholarship amount has to be deposited.
7. Self-certified clear copy of address proof (only Aadhaar Card will be considered)
8. Self-certified clear copy of PAN Card (mandatory)
9. Brief write up on the following topics
   • Why are you a qualified candidate for a scholarship?
   • How will you be impacted if chosen?
10. In case of minor candidates, the application form must be countersigned by their respective legal guardians and the Guardian Declaration Application Form (Annexure- II) duly filled.

Submission of the Samsung Star Scholarship Application

The application form along with the attachments of all the documents mentioned above will be submitted to the head office of the Samsung. The candidates need to know that the applications must be sent as a hard copy as well as through email. Applications should be emailed in pdf format to the official email address (star.scholars@samsung.com) on or before the due date along with all required documents attached.

• The Samsung star scholarship would be awarded to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya students on the basis of their merit at the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main).
• The candidates will be notified as to whether they have received a scholarship
• The selection of the participants will be the sole responsibility of the Samsung so that no request in this regard will be considered.

Samsung Scholarship Result

The Samsung Scholarship Result will be announced on 25 February 2019. The result will include the names of the students who have been selected for the scholarship by Samsung India. The students should know that meeting the minimum application requirements and scholarship criteria do not guarantee the scholarship.
