About Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 Scheme launched in 2017 for providing cheaper and quality technical education to the meritorious poor students of the state of Punjab. Meritorious poor students of the state will be given the fee waiver as per the percentage of marks obtained in Class 10 in the Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme 2017. The scholarship scheme is applicable to the students of the MRSPTU Main Campus and its constituent colleges. The scholarship scheme is awarded is to the students studying in BTech, BArch, MTech, MPHarm, MBA, MCA, MSc (ChemistrylPhysics/Mathematics/Food Science & Technology) and MCom.

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Class/ Age  The candidates should be students of mentioned institute.
Details

The students should be the residents of Punjab and should also be studying in any of the following institutions: Engineering- Government PolEngineeringcolleges, Maharaja Ranjit Singh University Bhatinda, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.

Qualifying Criteria for Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017

For Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University Main Campus and affiliated colleges, the following is the criteria:-

For B.Tech
  • Category A: The candidates should have obtained JEE Rank between 50,000 to 1,50,000. 
  • Category B: The applicant should be in first 6 merit positions of any board examination.
  • Category C: All University/Board toppers in qualifying examinations are eligible to apply under category C.
For M.Tech
  • Category A: The candidates should be qualified in GATE or GPAT. 
  • Category B: The applicant should be a merit holder in the respective University.
  • Category C: All University/Board toppers in qualifying examinations are eligible to apply under category C.
B.Arch

10+2 Percentage and NATA Percentage as required to be eligible.
MBA, MCA, M.Sc.
(Chemistry/Physics/ Mathematics/Food Science & Technology) and M. Com

The candidates should be enrolled in any of the programs MBA, MCA, M.Sc. (Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Food Science & Technology) and M. Com. 

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship Reward

The candidates selected for the Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 will be awarded as per the following:

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 for B.Tech

Students in first 6 merit positions of any board examination, but must have appeared in JEE test and admitted in any branch: Scholarship equivalent to Full Tuition Fee. All University/Board toppers in qualifying examinations - Scholarship equivalent to Full Tuition Fee.

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 for  M.Tech & M.Pharma

  • Category A - GATE/GPAT qualified: Scholarship will be provided by the university as per norms of AICTE/UGC or as prescribed by respective statuary body.
  • Category B - Scholarship equivalent to Full Tuition Fee will be provided to the Merit Holders declared by the respective University.
  • Category C - Scholarship equivalent to Full Tuition Fee will be provided to all University/ Board Topper.

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 for B.Arch


10+2 Percentage and NATA Percentage as required for admission Merit Scholarship equivalent to:

More than 80% & Development Fund Full Tuition Fee
More than 70% and up to 80%   Full Tuition Fee
More than 60% and up to 70%   Half Full Tuition Fee
JEE Rank in Arch. App. Test Equivalent to Scholarship
From 1 to 7,500 Fee 25% of Tuition
More than 7,500 up to 10,000 Fee 15% of Tuition


Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 for MBA, MCA, MSc  Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Food Science & Technology) and M.Com.

  • Scholarship equivalent to Full Tuition Fee will be provided by the University to the Merit position holders in the qualifying examinations as declared by the respective University.
  • Scholarship equivalent to 50% Tuition Fee will be provided by the University to the candidates who have secured more than 70% marks in the qualifying examinations.

Punjab Chief Minister Scholarship 2017 for Other UG Program Offered by PIT(S)

Candidates having 70% marks and above in the qualifying examination: Scholarship equivalent to Half Tuition Fee.

Conditions for the students to carry forward the scholarship in future:

  • The candidate must clear all his/her previous semesters.
  • The candidate must obtain at least 7 SGPA in each semester.
  • A candidate can avail only one scholarship at a time.
  • Candidate must have shown appropriate/good conduct throughout the session.
