About NSS Roadmap to Space Settlement

NSS Roadmap to Space Settlement Art Contest 2017 is open now and invites students of 13-25 years of age for the International Student Art Contest. The National Space Society (NSS) conduct the contest and looking for student artists to create Original illustrations for the NSS Roadmap to Space Settlement. The artwork in NSS Roadmap to Space Settlement Art Contest 2017 must provide a realistic depiction of future human space settlement and associated activities and endeavours.

  • The Art Work should be as close as possible to what it might actually look like. Each art piece must include at least one person and a view of the setting so that it is obviously a space settlement and not something else.
  • Realistic means as accurate as possible both in science and engineering and as closely as possible to what a real space settlement would actually look like. The art need not be fully photorealistic, but the closer to that goal, the better.
  • This year's themes: People Living and Working in Space Settlements
OR Medicine and Medical Manufacturing in Space
  • The submitted artwork should be Original and Real. The Deadline for the submission is 16 March 2017, and the result would be announced on 1 April 2017.
