About NBHM Scholarship

NBHM Scholarship MSc 2019: The application process has started for NBHM Scholarship MSc 2019. The candidates can apply for NBHM MSc Scholarship from 24 July 2019 to 10 September 2019. NBHM Scholarship is offered by the National Board of Higher Mathematics. This scholarship will be provided to those students who wish to pursue studies leading to a Master's degree in mathematics. Interested candidates need to fill the NBHM Scholarship online application. The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the written examination which will be conducted by NBHM on 19 October 2019. NBHM MSc Scholarship Amount

The scholarship will be offered for a period of 1 year and can be extended to a period of maximum 2 years on the basis of the performance of the candidate. For candidates who received the scholarship in the final year of M.Sc. program, they will get the scholarship only for 1 year.

Scholarship Amount: Rs.6,000 per month

To avail of the scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a recognized post-graduate (including integrated five-year masters) programme in Mathematics in India

NBHM Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Class  B.A/B.Sc./M.A./M.Sc. (Mathematics)

Nationality: The scholarship is available for Indian nationals only.

Academic Qualification

  • BA/BSc - The applicant must have a BA. /B.Sc. degree in Mathematics or is expecting to complete the UG degree by end of July. The students must have scored at least 60% marks in case of B.A./B.Sc. program.
  • BA (H) /BSc (H) -  - The applicant must have a BA. /B.Sc. degree in Mathematics or is expecting to complete the UG degree by end of July. The students must have scored at least 50% marks in case of B.A.(H)/B.Sc.(H) program.
  • Integrated MSc program: Students who have either completed or expect to complete by end of July 2019 three or four years of a recognized five-year integrated masters programme in mathematics, with cumulative marks 60% or more (or equivalent)
  • the cumulative marks in the undergraduate degree pre-requisite to the master's programme is 60% or more (or equivalent); the cumulative marks need only be 50% or more (or equivalent) if the undergraduate degree is an Honours programme.

NBHM Scholarship Application form and Process

The application form of NBHM Scholarship MSc 2019 has to be filled in online mode. Candidates can get the application form from the official website of National Board of Higher Mathematics or can click on the following link. The candidate has to upload the photograph and signature while filling the NBHM Online Scholarship Application Form. The Photograph should be less than 50 KB and Signature should be less than 25 KB. No Application has to be sent either to the NBHM or Zonal Co-ordinators.

NBHM Scholarship Test Centres

The scholarship exam will be conducted in the following centres under each zone:

Each candidate has to select two centres from the zone in which (s)he wishes to appear for the test, in order of preference while filling the online application form

NBHM Scholarship Test Admit Card

The admit card for the scholarship exam will be available to download online. The candidates have to carry a photo ID proof to the exam centre on the day of the exam. Candidates do not receive the admit card by post can contact their zonal coordinator.

NBHM Scholarship Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of a written examination followed by a personal interview. The details of the examination are as follow:

  • Type of Examination: The examination will have questions requiring short answers, primarily in the areas of analysis and algebra, but also in other areas of Mathematics covered in undergraduate mathematics programs.
  • Duration of the Examination: The candidates will have Two & Half hours to attempt the examination.
  • Date of Examination: The written examination will be conducted on 19 October 2019.

NBHM Scholarship Exam Pattern

There will be three sections in the NBHM Scholarship exam and each section will consist of 10 marks making the NBHM Exam of total 30 marks, Applicants must note that Calculators are not allowed in the examination hall.

NBHM Scholarship Result 2019

The NBHM scholarship exam would be conducted on 19 October and after the question paper and answer key will be released after the exam. The candidates will be given a chance to challenge the answer key. The NBHM Scholarship Result will be based on the final answer key and scholarships would be given to the students who qualify all the academic criteria and clears the NBHM Scholarship Written exam.
