About MTSE

MTSE 2021 - Maharashtra Talent Search Exam is a talent search exam conducted by N. Wadia College, Pune. The MTSE Exam is conducted to search for talented students and to equip the students for National Talent Search Exam (Class 10) and other competitive examinations in future. All the students who are studying in Class 8, 9, and 10 are eligible to appear for the MTSE 2021. MTS Exam is conducted to make the students academically competent so that they can easily appear for any competitive exam and they build an urge to qualify for such exams. MTSE also aims to honour and encourage the selected students by awarding scholarships and prizes. The candidates who wish to appear for the MTSE exam will have to fill up the MTSE Application Form and submit it by 27 March 2021. MTSE Result 

MTSE 2021 result will be announced for the Maharashtra Talent Search Examination. The students have to select the class, district and school name and the result will be available. The result is tabulated based on the MTSE answer key that has been released by the society. MTSE Result has the following details

Some Pointers for MTSE result

  • Viva Marks are given only for the Class 10 students who were shortlisted for interview.
  • Detailed marks will be communicated through the school
  • For all students of Class 8, 9 and Class 10 students (who were not selected for the Interview), the total Marks are out of 200. 
  • For Class 10 students who were selected for Interviews, total Marks are out of 250

Details
  • Students from Class 8-10 from schools recognised by the government are eligible to apply.
  • It is not necessary to participate in MTSE 2021 before the NTSE Exam.

MTSE Reward

The number of students selected for the award of MTS scholarships at the state/ district level depends on the number of students appearing for the examination from the entire state and the marks secured. The participants should know that the scholarships would be awarded by money order. The merit list for students appearing for MTSE 2020 will be rewarded at two levels:

  • State Level Merit List: Students appearing in the state level merit list will be awarded a state scholarship of Rs.1000 each for one year.
  • District Level Merit List: Students who could not secure a place in the State level merit list but have made it in the District Level Merit List will be awarded to the District Scholarships of Rs. 400.
  • Special Prize: Rs. 200 each will be awarded for those students who could not be awarded State or District Scholarships but have secured marks more than particular marks.
  • Taluka Prizes: Rs. 150 each for one year for those students who could not award State or District Scholarships but have done well in their Talukas.
  • Consolation Prizes: Besides these scholarships, some students will be awarded consolation prizes of Rs. 100.
  • Merit Prizes: Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000 & Rs. 2000 will be awarded to the first three students in the state level merit lists of rural and urban areas for each standard. A special prize of Rs. 500 will be awarded to a student standing first in each paper & every section of the written examination. In case, there are more candidates who secure maximum marks, then the prize will be divided among them. However, every student will get a minimum amount of Rs. 100.
  • Other Medium Prize: Rs. 400 will be awarded to a certificate holder having maximum marks amongst Hindi and Urdu medium students.
  • Certificates: The students securing 70 marks or more out of 200 in the written examination will be awarded a certificate of merit.

Merit list at each level will have urban and rural components, Schools in all district and within the corporation, limits will be treated as urban while all schools at villages and taluka places are incorporated in rural areas.

MTSE 2020 Prize Distribution

  • The selected students from the State Level Merit List of Class 8, 9 and 10 will be awarded their prizes in the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
  • This Prize Distribution ceremony will be held at N. Wadia College, Pune 

MTSE Application form and Process

MTSE 2021 Application Forms is now available to be filled and can be filled until 27 March 2021. Although, the candidates can fill up the application form until 10 April with a late fee.

Submission of the Application Form

Candidates are advised to check the details of the application form and then make the final submission as the candidates need to know that once the application gets submitted, the candidates will not be able to change the details of the application form.

The candidates have to fill the application form and send it to the MTS office by cash or Demand Draft.

MTSE Selection Process

Candidates will receive their results at their respective schools. The complete result of all the students appearing for the examination will also be available on the official website. Merit List of MTSE 2020 will be prepared at two levels:

  • State-level Merit List
  • District level Merit List

MTSE 2019 Cut off marks

Candidates appearing for MTSE 2020 will be selected based on the following cut off marks. The cut-off marks prepared for the selection of the candidates will be different as per the class. The participants are suggested to go through the table given below.

MTSE 2020 Interviews

  • The students of Class 10 will be selected for the interview on the basis of their performance in the written examination.
  • The interview will be conducted at N. Wadia College, Pune.
  • The interviews may be arranged at other places for the convenience of the students.
  • The students will have to attend the interview at their own expense.
  • On the basis of written examination, the interview of the Class students will be conducted between 26 July and 5 August. Detailed information about the interview will be communicated to the students at their residential address and to their schools. The letters of the interview will be sent between 15 and 20 July.

MTSE Exam Pattern

  • There will be two written papers for all standards and will be conducted on the same day.
  • Question Type:  Multiple Choice Questions( 100 each)
  • Medium: English / Marathi / Hindi  / Urdu will be the medium of examination.
  • Duration: 180 minutes.
  • The Exam pattern will be the same for all the classes.

Note: There will be no Interview for Class 8 & 9 and for Class 10 there will be an interview of 50 Marks.

MTSE Syllabus

  • PAPER 1: For MAT - Slightly higher difficulty level than mental ability test of class 8th.The student should use the regular textbooks prescribed for the academic year. The student should thoroughly study the curriculum for the whole year.
  • PAPER 2: For SAT - The syllabus will be the same as that of class 8,9 and 10. Many books of different publishers are available for MTS & NTS examinations. Students should use these books as per their choice.
