International Poster Contest "To Death With A Smile" 2015

• International Poster Contest "To Death With A Smile" 2015 is conducted by MUMEDI, the Mexican Museum of Design, represented by the MUMEDI Foundation.
• International Poster Contest "To Death With A Smile" 2015 is open to designers, students, teachers, professionals and anyone interested in the subject so as to promote the exercise of good design.
• SUBJECT MATTER: It is about death, a personal consideration or approach, the meaning In your own culture, how we fear, celebrate or deal with it. It can be reflected in serious or playful way.
• Last date to send the posters is October 19, 2015
• EXHIBITION: The best 300 to 400 entries will be exhibited at the Mexican Museum of Design from November 2015 and in 2016 in certain dates to confirm in the Downtown Historic Center of Mexico City.
  • In the month of November 2016 a special selection of the best posters of the "To Death with a Smile" Collection with be exhibited in Spain at the Finish Cultural Center in Madrid.
• Award Ceremony: The award ceremony will be held on November 26, 2015 at 8 pm at: MUMEDI,Museo Mexicano del Diseño

FIRST PRIZE

International Poster Contest "To Death With A Smile" 2015 Application Process

Candidates can enter the contest as an individual or a collective with no more than three participants.

If entering in team then you have to name your representative

PRE REGISTRATION

• Step 1: Candidates have to Register themselves online at the official website.
• Step 2: Candidates have to take the Print out of the Registry Sheet

Specifications of the Poster

• TECHNIQUE: Freestyle but at the end it should go through any of the Adobe Software Family. In the end it should be put into the requested electronic file format.
• DIMENSIONS: 60 cm x 90 cm, vertical.
• FORMAT: Digital Format .JPG with 200 dpi’s in RGB colors
• MINIMUM WEIGHT: The weight of each file must not exceed 25 MB once it is compressed in the .JPG file format.
• The Digital File of each poster should be named in the following manner: last name of the author_name of the author.jpg

Submission of the Poster

Mode 1: Candidates must save the Digital Files on a CD o DVD. The same along with the Registry Sheet, copy of oficial ID ( passport, license, etc.) of the authorization for reproduction and commercialization, filled and signed should be send in a sealed envelope to the below mentioned address by October 19, 2015

International Poster Contest "To Death With A Smile" 2015 Selection Process

• Once all the files will be received they will then be printed on different materials at the organizers discretion.
• All pieces received will be pre-selected and mounted at the exhibition for a month so the different judging panels are able to select the winning pieces.
• For Popular Selection Prize: All exhibition visitors will vote during the first month for their favorite poster and the winner will get a special printed acknowledgment.
• The Jury, presided by members of the Mexican Museum of Design Council will select the entries that deserve to be awarded any of the prizes and acknowledgments.

CRITERIA:

• The judging panels will take in account that the entry pieces were presented inside the guidelines of this contest
• The jury will take into consideration the below mentioned things:
  • Degree of creativity
  • Aesthetics
  • Originality and innovation
  • The concept and message in their own criterion
