Indian Oil Sports Scholarship 2018-19 for Upcoming Sportspersons

Indian Oil Corporation invites applications for budding sportspersons for IndianOil Sports Scholarships Scheme 2018-19. The duration of the scholarship is for 3 years and the scholarship will be renewed every year after examining the performance of the sportspersons. Indian Oil Scholarship for Sports will be awarded to sportspersons within the age-group of 13-19 years and there are total 140 awards available. The Scholarship amount provided to the sportsperson ranging from Rs. 12,000 to 19,000 per month.

The aim of the scholarship is to create a pool of talented sportspersons out of which appointment under sports quota can be done for the Indian Oil. Indian Oil Scholarship for Sports is given under 2 categories i.e. ‘Elite Scholar’ and ‘Scholar’ depending upon the performance of the sportsperson.

Candidates need to click on the above link to fill an online application form of Indian Oil Sports Scholarship 

Candidates have to fill the required details in every section of the form. The details, a candidate need to fill are given below:

Submission of IOCL Sports Scholarship Application 

The sportsperson should submit the application necessarily in the formats given with all columns duly filled. The application will be routed through and recommended by Appropriate Authority / Institution (such as Head / Principal of Institution / School)

The information of reward for the Indian Oil Scholarship for Sports 2016-17 for upcoming sportsperson is given below

• Number of Scholarships: Indian Oil Scholarship for Sports will be offered to 140 sportspersons.
• Period of Scholarship: The Scholarship is granted for three years.

India Oil Sports Scholarship Amount 2018

The amount of scholarship will depend upon the type of game being played by the sportsperson and the category under which the award is being offered to the sportspersons. The details are as follow:

Indian Oil Sports Scholarship Renewal

The Scholarship needs to be renewed every year for its continuation. The performance of the sportsperson in the previous year will be reviewed and only after that, the scholarship will be renewed for the next year.

Conditions related to the Indian Oil Scholarship for Sports 

• The sportspersons cannot draw any other scholarship or financial aid or stipend while being benefited by Indian Oil Scholarship for Sports.
• Indian Oil Corporation is not bound to provide employment to the beneficiaries of the scholarship program.
• In Athletics, only individual events will be considered. Cross Country event will not be considered.
• In Archery, all the categories like Recurve, Compound and Indian Round will be considered for selection.
• In Swimming, only individual events will be considered, and categories such as FreeStyle, Back Stroke, Brest Stroke and Butter Fly will be considered.
• Events under Artistic Gymnastics will be considered.
• In Kabaddi, Beach Kabaddi will not be considered.
• In VolleyBall, Beach Volley Ball will not be considered.
• In Football, Futsal / 7 a side Football participation will not be considered.
• In Hockey, five a side Tournament will not be considered.
• In Chess, only events under the Classical Time Control will be considered.

The selection process for the two categories i.e. "Elite Scholar" and "Scholar" is separately given below. The selection of the candidates is done by Team Games and Individual Games.

Indian oil Scholarship for Elite Scholar

Team Games - Representing the country.
Individual Games - National ranking between 1 to 5 in Juniors or Sub-Juniors category or semi-finalist / Finalists of national championships.

Indian Oil Scholarship for Scholars

Team Games - Representing the state team
Individual Games- National ranking between 6 to 15 in Juniors or Sub-Juniors category or quarter-finalist of national championships.
