About Indian Engineering Olympiad

Indian Engineering Olympiad (IEO) 2018 is a National Level Exam that offers a real test of engineering skills for the students in various fields of engineering on a national platform. Indian Engineering Olympiad 2018 is organised by Think cell Learning Solutions Pvt. The Olympiad was started in the year of 2016, and it was the first of its kind exam conducted across 104 centres in India.

Students pursuing second, third or the fourth year of engineering from any recognised college are eligible for Indian Engineering Olympiad (IEO 2018). Such candidates can apply in any one of the following categories

Category 1 2nd year Common test paper for all streams of engineering
Category 2 3rd year Separate papers for streams CS, EE, EC, IN, ME, CE, CH
Category 3 4th year Separate papers for streams CS, EE, EC, IN, ME, CE, CH


Nearly 1,52,000 students participated in the second edition. Close to 1,80,000 students expected to participate in the third edition. Students from the best engineering colleges across the country participate in the Olympiad.

Indian Engineering Olympiad Eligibility Criteria

Gender  Both
Region  Pan India Level
Class/ Age  Students studying in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year in engineering program
  • Students currently studying in 2nd, 3rd & 4th year engineering only are eligible for appearing in the Olympiad exam
  • Non-Eligible: Students who have graduated are NOT eligible for the exam.

Indian Engineering Olympiad Reward

Selected candidates will get the various prizes according to their ranks. The prize distribution is mentioned below:

  • Medals and Excellence certificate for Top 3 students in each stream.
  • Financial Scholarships for Toppers.
  • Merit Certificates for Top 100 students in each stream.
  • Participation certificates to all students.

Indian Engineering Olympiad Application form and Process

Indian Engineering Olympiad 2018 Application Process will be done through online mode only. The online registration process is now started and the applicants can submit the online application form until 28 January 2018. Steps to Fill the IEO 2018 Registration Form

The candidates want to apply for Indian Engineering Olympiad 2018 have to follow the steps mentioned below:

  • STEP 1: Add Personal Information
    Candidates have to fill the application form giving the required Personal Details such as Name, Gender, DOB, Address etc.  
  • STEP 2: Add College Name, Course
     Now the candidates have to fill their Academic Details such as state studying in, college name, current year, and department/stream to name a few.
  • STEP 3: Select Exam Centre
    Candidates have to select the two centres which they prefer for examination. (Candidates are suggested that they should verify their details because they cannot change the details in future)
  • STEP 4: Payment of Application Fee
    After the verification of details, candidates have to click on the “Save & Continue” button for final submission. Other details regarding the Indian Engineering Olympiad will be sent to candidate’s registered email id.

Application Fee: The students applying for Indian Engineering Olympiad will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 100 through online payment using Net Banking/ wallets/ card or UPI.

Application Submission 

After making the payment there is no need to send the application form hard copy. The candidates can take a print out of the filled in application form for their future reference.

Updating/Editing the Application form

Candidates have to send a requesting mail to coordinator@engineeringolympiad.in for changing their registration details and one of the coordinators will look into their request.

Indian Engineering Olympiad Hall Ticket

The e-Hall Tickets will be sent to candidate's registered email ID latest by 15 February 2018. If the candidate did not receive the hall ticket by 17 February 2018, must send an email with their registration details to info@engineeringolympiad.in so the IEO team can help them.

Indian Engineering Olympiad Selection Process

The selection of candidate is based on the examination which is scheduled to be held on 25 February 2018 in more than 65 centres across India. This exam is designed to measure the engineering skills & knowledge of the candidate. Those candidates who perform well in this examination will get various prizes according to their ranks.

Indian Engineering Olympiad Exam Pattern

  • Duration of IEO Exam: 90 minutes
  • Mode of Exam: Pen and Paper Based
  • Number of Questions: 50 MCQs

The question paper (all categories) will consist of 50 multiple choice questions across 2 sections to be answered in 90 mins. Answers are to be marked on an OMR sheet. Students can download past papers along with answer key from the IEO website.
