ICWA Essay Competition 2019 has started and the last date to apply online is 1 October 2019. All the entries are accepted in PDF format only, however, candidates can submit their entries in video format as well. Get complete details on this page. ICWA is a junior and senior level essay competition based on ‘Awareness Programme on Indian Foreign Policy’. Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) started the competition in 2016, and this is the 3rd Edition of the essay writing competition. The students enrolled in school and aged 15 to 18 years are eligible to participate under the junior level category, and the students enrolled in PG/UG programs in any recognised college/university in India and aged 18-25 years are eligible to participate under the senior level category. In ICWA Essay Competition 2019, Topic and word limitation of the essay should be as per the details mentioned below

Young Indian writers have an opportunity to demonstrate their innovative thinking on the topic mentioned above and write an essay. The essay should be submitted via e-mail till 30 July 2019. Top 3 entries in both junior and senior category will be selected for cash prizes. 

The top entries submitted under the senior and junior category in the ICWA Essay Competition 2019 will be awarded as under:

The students wish to participate in ICWA Essay Competition 2019 can submit their essay only through online mode. The essay has to be submitted online until 1 October 2019. To submit the essay online, the candidates have to follow the guideline mentioned below:

Guidelines for Submission of the Essay

• The participants have to provide separate personal information along with the essay.
• The participants have to include a separate cover page which must have the personal information of the participant. The participants have to write the following personal information on the cover page:
  • Name
  • Father’s name
  • Mother’s name
  • Class
  • Program
  • Name and address of the school or college or university
  • Residence address
  • Mobile and landline number
  • Email address
• Certificate from School/ College - Before submission, the participant has to attach a certificate from the School/Institute/College/University where he/she is currently enrolled.

ICWA Essay Competition - Technical Parameters

The candidates participating in ICWA Essay Competition need to submit their entries in PDF format only. The following are the format which needs to be followed:

• The Text must be written in any of three types: 
  • Book Antiqua
  • Cambria
  • Times New Roman
• The font size would be 12 and line spacing would be only 1.15.
• The paper margin would be 1-inch from all four sides.
• The candidates who want to submit ICWA Essay in video format need to submit the URL of the YouTube uploaded video in the comment section on the official page of ICWA i.e. mygov.in/task/icwa-essay-writing-competition-2019/

ICWA Essay Submission

The eligible students who wish to participate in the competition under junior or senior category can submit essay only through online mode. Essay along with the required certificate of the participant should be sent via email to essayicwa@gmail.com latest by 1 October 2019. The hard copy of the essay has not to be sent via offline mode.
