About Charpak Exchange Scholarship for Indian Students

Charpak Student Exchange Programme India for France 2019 is open for the Autumn Session (September – December 2019). This program is designed for exchange candidates from all the streams and fields of study, enrolled in an Indian institution for a period of one to four months (duration of an academic semester) at the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level. This page discusses applications for the Charpak Student Exchange scholarship program. The candidates are suggested to fill the application form on or before the due date i.e. 30 May 2019. The Charpak Scholarship programme is run by the French Embassy in India. They offer three types of funding:

  • The Exchange program: The program is designed for exchange students for a period of one to four months (duration of an academic semester) at the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level.
  • The Master’s program: This program is designed for one to two years of studies in France at the Master’s degree level.
  • The Internship program: The program is designed for the students pursuing engineering and pure sciences courses at the Bachelor’s or Master’s levels, who plan to train at French Institutions during their academic break (September to December).

Charpak Exchange Scholarship for Indian Students Eligibility Criteria

Details
  • Nationality: Student must be a resident of India.
  • Academic requirement: Applicant must be currently enrolled at an Indian institution of higher learning.
  • The student must have got the e-mail correspondence towards selection/ invitation/ acceptance letter from the institute in France.

Charpak Exchange Scholarship for Indian Students Reward

The Charpak Students Exchange Programme offers the following stipends to the candidates selected for the scholarship programme. There are many categories in which the allowance would be provided.

  • Living allowance 700 euros
  • Medical insurance coverage (approx 300 euros / academic year)
  • Student visa fee waiver (16,500 INR approx)
  • Assistance to find affordable student accommodation

Note: Full tuition fee waiver at public universities or partial tuition fee waivers by other institutions, can be granted according to their individual policies. This will have to be checked with the institutions.

Charpak Exchange Scholarship for Indian Students Application form and Process

The application process for the Charpak Exchange Programme has been started and the candidates are suggested to fill the application form on or before the due date i.e. 30 May 2019. The steps to fill the application form is also given below to the candidates. So, the candidates are suggested to follow the instructions given below to fill the application form.

  • STEP 1: The candidates have to follow the link given on this page which will redirect the candidates to the website of the Charpak Exchange Programme.
  • STEP 2: The candidates then need to fill the application form by providing the required details.
  • STEP 3: The candidates have to provide a User Identification Card which can be any of these four
    • Pan Card
    • Passport
    • Aadhar Card
    • Voter ID
  • STEP 5: The candidates after filling up the application form have to note down their UID number, email id, mobile number, user id and passport.

Submission of the Application Form

The candidates are advised to check the details of the application form and then make the final submission as the candidates need to know that once the application gets submitted, the candidates will not be able to change the details of the application form.

After the successful submission of the application form, the candidates are also advised to keep at least two printouts of the application form with them for future reference.

Documents to be enclosed along with the Charpak Exchange Application Form

  • Scanned copy of the first page of the passport (with photo and expiry date).
  • Full Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
  • Attested Scanned copy of the admission/acceptance letter from the French higher education institution.
  • Attested scanned copies of mark sheets of Class 12 and Bachelor's and Master's degrees
  • French language certificate if any

Charpak Exchange Scholarship for Indian Students Selection Process

The result for the Charpak Student Exchange Programme to be declared on 10 June 2019. The exact release date of the Charpak Student Exchange Programme Result is not released yet. However, after the declaration of the result, the selection process will get started.

  • The application will be selected on the basis of your academic excellence, as well as the consistency and quality of your statement of purpose.
  • There is no CGPA / percentage cut-off for the scholarship.
  • Knowledge of French will be an asset but is not mandatory.
  • The statement of purpose must be original.
  • Awardees will be contacted via email or phone call.
  • The names of the Charpak awardees will be published on the Campus France India website a few days later.
