DBT Bioinformatics Industrial Training Programme 2017-18

DBT BIITP Bioinformatics Industrial Training Programme 2017 is a program conducted by Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, managed by Biotech Consortium India. The main objective of this DBT BIITP program is to provide an opportunity to the students of bioinformatics to obtain practical skills and experience by working on projects along with industry experts. This training program also provides a chance to the industry to recognize potential employees. The candidates and Biotech/ Bioinformatics Companies that are interested to provide hands on industrial training to the candidates of Bioinformatics under BIITP may apply online. The companies would have no obligation towards any payment to trainees; they would be paid the bench fee to cover expenses towards training. The last date for receipt of online applications of DBT BIITP is 5 October 2017.

DBT Bioinformatics Industrial Training Programme 2017 Dates

• Training will be for a period of six months and the stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month will be paid to candidates placed for training.
• Candidates who wish to claim travel expenses are requested to bring 2 copies of tickets booked online or taken from the ticket window, to be attached with the claim form.
• Outstation Candidates appearing for the interview will be paid to and for travelling expenses equivalent to 2nd class train fare (Non AC) by the shortest route, on production of tickets in Original
• Ticket fares for premium tatkal will not be paid.

The application process of DBT BIITP will be conducted through online mode only. The online application form is available at the official website of BCIL as well as on this page. Candidates can click on the following link to fill the DBT BIITP application form. Candidates are advised that fill the online application form within 20 minutes otherwise the page will be expired. The last date for submission of online application is 5 October 2017. The application form will not accept any special characters like % > < / #, “etc., It is mandatory to fill all fields. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Fee: Rs. 250

Document required to be submitted along with DBT BIITP Application

• A demand draft of Rs. 250 in favour of “Biotech Consortium India Limited” payable at New Delhi towards non-refundable application fee. Candidates must write their Application ID, Name, Date of Birth and Mobile Number on the reverse side of the demand draft.
• The hard copy of the system generated acknowledgement and application form submitted online.
• Self-attested photocopies of mark sheets, certificates of highest degree/ diploma, mark sheets/ certificates of graduation/ post-graduation also need to be attached. For students appearing in the final examination in 2017, filled and signed certificate from the Head of Department on the college/University letter head in the format available on our website.

Submission of the Application

The application form will be filled through the online mode; candidates must take the print out of filled application form. Candidates have to send the printout of filled application form along with the required documents at the following address:

The selection of candidates for training will be based on the eligibility criteria as well as the interview. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final and binding. The candidates found eligible will be called for interview in different cities. The candidates may be called for interview in the city other than selected while filling the application form. The list of candidates found eligible for the interview would be published on the website with details regarding venue, date and time. Individual intimation for the interview would not be sent.

Other Important Details related to DBT BIITP

• Filling up DBT BIITP application form does not guarantee training under BIITP. Training does not ensure permanent placement. Candidates interested in higher studies and research need not apply.
• Candidates will be required to join anywhere in India. The applications for change of location will not be entertained.
• Candidates who placed for training will have to make their own arrangements for lodging & boarding. The company may/may not provide boarding/lodging facility on the chargeable basis or help in finding accommodation.
• Candidates will be required to follow the rules and regulations of the trainer company. If the trainee leaves the training in between or is terminated, the stipend would not be paid for the rest of the training period.
• Non-serious candidates based on the feedback of company will be terminated without notice. If a trainee is terminated from a company due to unsatisfactory work or indiscipline or misconduct, the trainee would not be placed in any other company.
