DAAD’s Dr. Angela Merkel Scholarship 2017- Study in Germany

DAAD’s Dr Angela Merkel Scholarship 2017- Study in Germany is being offered to Study LL.M in selected instituted of Germany for the India students under. DAAD’s Dr Angela Merkel Scholarship is available only for Law Graduates who completed their degree within last 6 years and are willing to go for LL.M with specialisation in European Law. DAAD’s Dr Angela Merkel Scholarship 2017- Study in Germany will provide a monthly living allowance, insurance, fixed travel allowance along with other benefits to the selected candidates during their stay in Germany.

The applications are to be made online and the printed copy of the application is to be sent by post to the concerned authorities. The duration of the scholarship program is 10-14 months depending upon the duration of course. The last date to complete the application process is November 10, 2015.

For a pre-selection round, each qualified applicants will be invited for an interview which is conducted by a bi-national Selection Committee at the DAAD office in New Delhi and the interview expected to be held in 1st week of February 2017.

The Scholarship is available for studies in the following two colleges in Germany

• Europa Institut, Universität des Saarlandes: Master of European Integration
• Europa-Kolleg Hamburg: European and European Legal Studies

DAAD’s Dr Angela Merkel Scholarship 2017 offers to pursue 1-year post graduation in the field of Law. The details of the Scholarship and its other benefits are the following:

• Duration of the Scholarship: The duration of the fellowship is 2 months of German language training from August to September and 10-12 months (October to July or September) of study period depending upon the length of the course.
• Courses Available: The scholarship is available for LL.M courses in European Law at selected German higher education institutions.
• Monthly Award: The candidates will get a monthly stipend of 750 Euros (Approx. INR 50,000).
• Travel Allowance: Candidates will be entitled to flat rate travel allowance i.e. 375 Euros for outward journey and 475 Euros for return travel (Approx. INR 60,000 in total)
• Language Course: Applicant will get 2 months German Language Course before the start of scholarship.
• Study Subsidy: The applicant will get study & research subsidy of 460 Euros (Approx. INR 30,000).
• Insurance Cover: The applicant will get payment toward health, accident and personal liability insurance cover.
• Other benefits: Wherever applicable candidates will be offered rent subsidy and family allowance.

• Full Curriculum Vitae
• Letter of Motivation: stating academic & personal reasons for planned study project in Germany.
• Academic Documents: Academic certificated depicting final grades.
• Language Proficiency: Recent scores of language certificate supporting applicant’s claim of proficiency in the English Language.
• Reference: Reference from a University teacher affirming applicant’s qualification.
