Delhi Chief Minister's Super Talented Children Scholarship Scheme 2015-16

• Delhi Chief Minister's Super Talented Children Scholarship Scheme 2015-16 has been launched by present Delhi Government
• Under the scheme the most talented students studying in science stream in Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya and 54 Model Delhi Government Schools will be selected and will be offered professional coaching and guidance so that they can seek admission in premier Engineering and Medical Institutions of the country. This program is similar to CBSE Udaan program which was launched in 2014.
• 250 students of Class 11 will be selected and 150 students of Class 12 will be selected for the special coaching program and the selection will be based on the selection test that will be conducted by the Directorate of Education within a week of launch of the scholarship program.
• At present there are  1011 govt schools that are run by Directorate of Education and close to15 lakh students are being imparted education in these schools.
  • Out of 1011 government schools, 279 offer Science stream and the coaching program scholarship scheme will be applicable to them.
• The three premier institutions selected by government to provide coaching and guidance are:
  • Vidyamandir, FIITJEE and Aakash

Reason behind the launch of Chief Minister's Super Talented Children Scholarship Scheme

• Maximum number of Science students score well as compared to the students of other streams but students of government schools are not able to perform well in competitive entrance exams
• Moreover the students of government schools cannot afford the costly guidance which provides cutting edge to the students studying in private schools.

Delhi Chief Minister's Super Talented Children Scholarship Reward

• Each selected student will be offered in any one of the coaching institutes nearest to their place of residence.
• The entire cost of the coaching programme will be borne by the Delhi Government.
  • The premier coaching institutes have agreed to provide same level facilities and training to Delhi Government students roughly around one-third of their normal fees.

FOR CLASS 11

• For Class 11 Students: Training of atleast 850 hours - Each of the Class 11 student will undergo an intensive training of, at least, 850 hours spread over 2 years at the designated training institute closest to their residence.

• Class 12: Training of atleast 500 hours - The students of Class 12 selected for the coaching program will undergo an intensive training of, at least, 500 hours at the designated training institute closest to their residence

• Study Material: Online/printed study material, assignments, tests will be provided by the coaching Institute.
• Model Test & Feedback: The students will be administered regular Model Tests and Feedback shared with their parents and the principals of the schools who will, in turn, mentor and monitor the coaching program personally. 

OTHER Benefits

• DTC and Metro passes will also be provided by the Government free of cost to these students to travel between their residence and the training institute.

Delhi Chief Minister's Super Talented Children Scholarship Application Process

• Candidates do not have to apply either individually or via their respective schools.
• The Directorate of Education will conduct screening test for Class XI and XII science stream students within a week of the announcement of the CM Scholarship Program.

Delhi Chief Minister's Super Talented Children Scholarship Selection Process

• 250 students of Class 11 and 150 students of Class 12 will be selected in premier coaching institutes for medical and engineering tests
• The selection will be done on the basis of the performance of the candidate in Screening Test.
