Chhattisgarh Government Short Film Contest 2016

Chhattisgarh Government Short Film Contest 2016 is India’s First Short Film Competition and festival dedicated to “Legal Awareness” named as “Shoot for Legal Awareness”. There is no age limit for entering the contest.

The purpose of this film festival is the promotion of creative thought processing among citizens for generating effective audio-visual films for legal awareness that will ultimately reach to the general public and contribute to enhancing the understanding of laws, rights and legal provisions for betterment the of the society.The last date to apply in Chhattisgarh Government Short Film Contest is July 10, 2016. 

Entries are invited in two categories

• Competetive
• Non-competitive

Shoot for Legal Awareness is conducted by Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority Raipur. Screening of the selected videos will be done in the festival on July 15,16,17, 2016.

Public Screening in Film Festival: Selected entries of Competition Category will be put for public screening during the Film festival on July 15, 16, 17, 2016 and later for legal awareness camps and drives. The best entries in each category will be screened at the festival and recognised with awards, certificates from SFLA Team.

All entries screened during the festival from both the categories shall be recognised with a certificate of participation and appreciation by CGSLSA.

No entry fees for participants and Registration starts from May 28,2016.Participants have to register online but in case the internet is not accessible they can send their entries offline on the adress given below.

STEP 1: Download Registration Form

STEP 2: Save the Registration Form and Rename it as SFLA 2016 <space> <your name> <space> <film name>. Fill the downloaded application form carefully and take a print out of the same, sign it. Make 1 copy of the filled in and signed form for future references.

STEP 3: Make 1 copy of your film on a pen drive and put it along with the Registration Form and other required documents inside a large waterproof envelope marked as SFLA- Short Film Competition and Festival 2016 .On the back of the envelop please mention your complete address and mobile phone number.

Guidelines for submission of the Short Film

• Duration of the Film
  • Competition category: A Short film that includes opening and closing credits with a total duration of 12 minutes.
  • Non-Competition Category: Short films with opening and closing credits of total duration 30 minutes. 

• Unlimited entries are accepted in both the categories
• They must have been released/produced by Indian Nationals only
• All films made in Hindi, Chhattisgarhi , English are acceptable.
• Films not eligible for Competition Category may also be included for Special Jury Award.
• Any misinterpretation or ambiguous presentation of any law, scheme or rule shall not be allowed .
• Any film against any system within the governance structure or any prevailing law shall not be entertained for the festival including screening.
• Films supporting any gender bias, obscenity, left wing extremism or any other stream of anti-national / anti-social thoughts shall not be permitted for the festival including screening.

Submission of Applications for Short film contest

The entry envelope should contain the following :

• Pen drive : Film in the required format, 90 seconds excerpt of the film in .mp4 format, Soft Copy of Poster in JPG format, Soft Copy of the Registration Form .
• Registration Form in Hard Copy duly signed and filled in.

SFLA Team will contact the candidate as per the registered details and inform about the status of their entry.

• Selection of films / videos for SFLA 2016 will be done by a committee whose decision will be final.
• Entries passed by the Jury for screening and competition shall be informed through email, letter, and phone to the contestants. The same will be noticed on the website cgslsa.gov.in.Festival Authorities reserve the right to accept or reject any film that is objectionable or offending.
