NDA and WBJEE Exam Dates Clashes. On 23 April 2017, two popular entrance test examinations are scheduled to be held and the first examination is West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) Exam and the 2nd exam is NDA which is conducted by UPSC. This situation making the candidates worried. The hapless candidates are praying to shift the WBJEE examination.
Subhankar Chakrabarty of Madanpur, Kalyani, is one such student. "I have applied for both the examinations. I come from a poor family. My parents want me to pursue a professional course so that I get a job early," he said.
WBJEE board, who is the conducting body of the WBJEE entrance exam, is reluctant to shift the date of WBJEE examination wich is making the students dismay who are preparing for both of the examination. However, WBJEE authorities are still waiting for a confirmation of the final date of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET). If the NEET examination date will also be same then the WBJEE authorities may postpone the WBJEE examination.
As per an official source from the higher education department, "We learnt about the NDA examination recently. We were sent a mail to a student who requested us to postpone WBJEE 2017. The mail doesn't even contain any name. But our preparations are on in full swing. We have already received around 8,000 applicants. It is difficult for us to defer the examination."
About NDA: NDA is a national level examination conducted by the UPSC for the class 12 passed or appearing students. The candidates selected for the NDA examination will be chosen for BA/B. Tech degree based on some specific criteria.
About WBJEE: WBJEE (Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is an entrance examination for admission to the undergraduate programmes in the universities, government colleges, and self-financed colleges of Bengal. WBJEE examination is conducted by WBJEE Board.
